6.37 - If that was Joshua Clottey there would have been no right hand counters. Floyd will see everything coming when Manny is throwing his patterned flurries.

Put aside your fanboyism first, because Floyd is able to to deal with Manny asault easily. First Floyd make no mistakes period. Manny has a lot of faults. Second you dont win fights with punches that dont land. You win fights landing punches, not throwing. Pac would not be able to do angles as he does with Clottey, because Clottey has his guard like an armor and almost can not steer. Floyd is a master in the art of the defense and to the blind people of the offense. You dont need to throw punches out of balance or jumping. That is lack of technique and woul be easy very very easy to exploit, and Manny does that always. You cant change a pattern of all your life in a fight. Also pac was frustrated by Clottey. What would happen when he get upset and frustrated and go in jumping??? The answer bang bang bang. Floyd by stoppage in late rounds. Clottey fight is a clear example of hhoe vulnerable Manny is. He finish the fight tired and busted from a guy who dont throw punches at all. With Floyd a very different fight. Floyd could fight potshooting of throwing a lot of punches. he has done that in all his career. His condition is superior to Manny by far. If Manny cant dominate Marques, how he can dominate Floyd. Only a fanboy be so blind.

Floyd does one thing that gets discounted as part of his arsenal: Controlling distance. Floyd is not going to be standing in one place and get banged away on. He's going to constantly make little subtle step-backs and such that just take that perfect punching range away from Pacquiao. Then, he'll be able to tag Pacquiao as he comes in trying to reestablish punching range. That'll be the story of the fight.

Good point. Floyd isn't a stationary target, and can match Manny for both hand-speed as well as foot-speed in my judgment. I think the two useful peices of information we can take from the other night is that Manny Pacquiao can go hammer and tong for 12 rounds even as a Welterweight but that he is open for right hand counters.

Floyd can deter Manny Pacquiao from throwing his flurries as often as he did the other night by making him pay with right hands. Clottey couldn't, Manny was safe when he was throwing because he was assured that nothing was going to comeback. What will happen if he throws a left hand at Floyd, missing, and is immediately met with a right hand underneath or straight down the pipe? Most likely he will say to himself, "what the hell was that, I didn't like that", and therefore he doesn't throw as often as before he got hit. Floyd has sting, and it's the punches you don't see that do the most damage...as the cliche goes.

Mayweather Jr. will beat Pacquiao with the jab. It's what gave him trouble with Morales, Marquez and (the few instances with) Cotto. That, and his ability to box and counter moving backwards. Pretty boy will also, as he often does, throw a punch or two then clinch, not allowing Pacman to get off. He will frustrate Pacquiao and make him look ordinary.

Yep. These people citing the "1200 punches thrown" as if it is evidence that Floyd will be overwhelmed are fooling themselves. Pacquiao's punch output is going to get neutralized and he sure as hell will not be landing at will.

Manny won't throw as many against Floyd simply because he'll make him miss which will definitely make him pay.

Manny never gets countered, because of late he hasn't fought any boxers who have those talents in counter punching.

Trust me, taking a flush right from a counter can hurt anyone! Especially as Mayweather will be using Manny's own force against him. People seem to think Mayweather can't hurt anyone, but this is rubbish. Mayweather has the perfect technique when it comes to landing flush leading rights. Watch the De La Hoya fight... Oscar stops throwing shots and becomes very cautious... I wonder why....

So you're saying Floyd isn't stationary when he lays on the ropes and does his shoulder roll??????

The typical joker puts that all on, "Oscar gassed out." The reality being that Floyd neutralized Oscar down to nothing and swept out the remainder of the fight.

We can all try and sound off like an expert on what Mayweather would or would not do against Pacquiao, and vice-versa. In the end, it's really all just speculation on our part. We need to see this fight to know for sure!!!

The jab stops manny in my opinion the Lead puts you in danger. The pac will have to slow down before leads start flying. I will permanently excuse my self from this bored if manny throws 100 punches against the best counter puncher around today. He not gonna be blocking he gonna be making you miss and making you pay.
