Camacho was more than capable of scoring a knockout, but there is a reason, particularly after the Rosario fight, that alot of boxing fans called Camacho, Hector "not so Macho" Camacho. ......Camacho truly was a very measured technician when going for the gusto. Pac's punching power would always be dangerous, and Camacho was very good and keen in sensing things like that. .....but yeah, Camacho was a very elusive fighter, I cant envision Pac coming close to hitting him with any consistency. JMM's skillset finds him ways to win some rounds and touch Camacho up some, but Camacho most likely jabs his way to a runfest vs JMM at 130 lbs. P4P againt JMM, my opinion changes, and its probably 50/50, but at 130 lbs and above, you got to go with a proven Camacho. HowJMM does at lightweight or above may change my opinion in a matchup against Camacho, particularly if JMM fights and beats Guzman, who has a similar but less refined style to Camacho's.
Patsys! Patsys for Gods sake, snap out of it......you used to be a pretty good poster around here..... What the hell happened? What ever the hell happened, snap the hell out of it!:nut
those four have beaten each other around but all got ko/tko'ed against arguello. this is a real proof how great and at a class of his own arguello was at 130.
Its the difference between being very good, and one of the greats of all-time. Arguello was just a treasure. The achilles heel for someone like Arguello was a running speedster like Camacho, but with Camacho being southpaw, and Arguello with that beauty of a right hand, I figure over the course of 15 rounds, Arguello had the patience and skillset to maybe find the range and land that bomb on Camacho, or so I would pray!:yep
good pun on camacho there. i am really interested on why people say that he got ruined or change his fighting attitude after the rosario fight. was he punched so hard in that fight that he later chnged his style to being more defensive? i know that you are just timid in pulling the trigger in picking marquez on this fight since you feel that pac, marquez, barrera and morales are not really natural 130 punders. i was just about to ask you a pound-for-pound match between camacho and marquez but you already stated your case.
The Rosario fight really did change how Camacho went about fighting in the ring. Before Rosario, Camacho was'nt afraid to mix it when he knew he could. He went for the KO when it was there for the taking.....He was actually entertaining in his flashy style. .....but after Rosario, he became a really safety conscious fighter, and ran and held back quite a bit, even when the opponent was overmatched and you sensed that he could'nt really hurt Camacho. Just alot more running and jabbing, and alot less leverage on his shots to insure that he did'nt get hit. The Rosario fight did damage Camacho mentally. He was hurt and wobbled in that fight, and I dont think he ever wanted to give his opponent the opportunity to do that again to him, and he became ultra safety conscious, that I believe affected his ability to shine in subsequent fights. Its a pity that it had to happen to Camacho mentally like that, because when you look at it, Rosario had the power to wobble and hurt any fighter in history if he landed a good shot. There is no shame in getting wobbled by what many believe is the biggest puncher in lightweight history in Rosario.
red manure is back after 3 months sentence at san quentin :rofl :rofl welcome back pacteron... :good i miss you so much we didnt had the chance to say good bye after my boy made your bf kissed the canvass for the fourth time with an open legs for you and snatched that crown and made a lot of crybabies like your buddy divac and maestra... nevertheless, you are very much welcome.... :rofl :rofl dont be a cry baby like divac ok... and please dont bet against pac. san quentin is not a cool place to be :hi: :hi:
yea Rosario was an absolute beast at 135 his power was sick .... proves how tough camachos chin was because that left hook nailed macho FLUSH while macho's chin was up in the air (not tucked in) and he never saw the left hook coming !
Actually, I read that Camacho use to fight at much lighter weights prior to 130. Of course it was at Amatuer status and I believe he only lost once. A borned right hander and a accomplished martial artist. This is what helped him with all that foot speed. Rosario was indeed one of the hardest punchers at lightweight and changed the course of how Camacho fought. It no way did Rosario ruin him, changed is all. It was well evident in his next fight with Boza-Edwards. I believe Camacho dropped Boza-Edwards, but I could be wrong. I mention this due to a member posting that Camacho fought safety first even if he knew you could not hurt him and he is beating you. It took so much away from him, but I still loved watching his finesse and flashy combos. I of course, did not like all the holding and running. On top of all that, his partying and drug use affected his fighting ability. Again, he would not knock Pac out. It would be by decision. This would be an ugly fight for Pac. If it was happening as we speak. I think Roach would not take the fight. Oh, Roach fell victim to Camacho back in the day. With this said, maybe he would take the fight to get revenge for his loss.
:yep Right now, the whole Pac team led by Bob Arum are seeing to it that Pac does'nt face JMM anytime soon. Bob Arum's recent quote of JMM climbing to lightweight to challenge Casamayor will not get JMM a fight with Manny, is testament to that. ......but you are absolutely correct about if Camacho was prime and ready today, believe me, Arum, Roach and Co. if given the choice would rather be hyping up a JMM-Pac third fight, in order to avoid Camacho. JMM is a bad style matchup for Pac, but Camacho would be a complete utter nightmare!
if people thought JMM outboxed Pac in the first fight they'd see an absolute schooling if Macho and Pac fought at 130
