I think his neater work will let him get the better of it when he fights manny at mid-range.

Napoles' biggest problem against Hearns maybe that he is clearly the smaller man. That being said Napoles is packing serious heat in his left hook, the way he steps forward and brings that hook in will kill Tommy to the body and head. I don't think Tommy has the straight up versatility and durability of a Ray Leonard to make it past Jose.

Duran would be an interesting fight granted. I'd still pick Napoles to beat Duran, he'd have a lot of success with the left hook, something that Duran never figured out to nullify completely. That being said, Duran's pressure and physicality could spell trouble for such a rhythmic fighter as Napoles. I'd pick Jose by close UD, but you never know when Montreal Duran is going show up. ;)

I was thinking Trinidad durabilty, and precision punching power would cut Napoles to pieces and he'd escape with a behind the cards sort of cuts stoppage. I think Trinidad really has something in this fight when you consider Napoles' history of cutting.

Rodriguez is a very good call, completely forgot about him. Barbados Joe Walcott was meant to be a monster puncher but I don't know much more about him other than he was the best welterweight of his era, that could spell trouble for him and his cutting. Hearns...not sure Tommy is durable or varied enough to take out Napoles. Like I said I still think I'd favour him against everybody other than Trinidad, Leonard and Robinson.

terrible matchup for pacman this. if JMM could time pac, I severely doubt jose would have any problems.

Jose is a true elite WW and only a couple of people in history would beat him in his prime.

Same. You definitely have to give a big power puncher with sharpness/accuracy like Tito a chance to open up a cut.

What do you think of Napoles vs Gavilan? Two of the most unique styles I seen.

I've not seen a whole lot of Gavilan to be honest. That being said I've been very pleased in what I've seen. I really liked some of the short shots to the body I've seen him throw. Sometimes think that effective short punching is becoming a lost art of sorts.

Pacman has earned the right to be discussed favourably in the tier below napoles at WW IMO but when you get to the elite like Robinson, Leonard and Napoles, he's like a fish out of water.
