This would be a tough fight for either fighter, but let's go ahead and assume Pacquiao suffers the same cut as Cotto did around the 4th round. Blood starts seeping into his eye, and he can no longer see properly. How does Manny Pacquiao fare?
Considering Pac's a southpaw and a smaller, weaker man, he might be in for some real trouble from Clottey's right hand. (But that's presuming Clottey would take advantage of an opportunity presented to him, something he didn't show much inclination towards vs Cotto...)
Clottey certainly didn't take the opportunity presented to him against Cotto. There is nothing to suggest he would do so against Pacquiao either. Very disappointing, considering that I believe he is extremely talented and able.
I'm not a fan of Clottey. Think he's overrated amongst the boxing community although hes obviously underrateda mongst the public. That said, I think Clottey would be Pacman's toughest matchup at the welterweight division besides Paul Williams. Clottey would find plenty opportunities to counter and hit manny harder than he's ever been hit before.
By the way, this is Clottey vs a one eyed Pacquiao. Just as it was on Saturday night. My thoughts are, Manny Pacquiao would get stopped late by Clottey. Being half blind against a fighter of Clottey's calibre is a serious drawback, and Cotto deserves all of the credit in the world for even seeing the final bell.
Cotto deserves massive respect for toughing it out. But what the hell was Clottey playing at? He could have finished him if he'd really went for it. JT syndrome
All WW fights are tough fights for a JWW pac.. one thing's for sure, it will be war inside the ring from start to finish one eye or not!.
