    Pretty ignorant comment, man...

JuanMa is a very common nickname among Latinos named Juan Manuel.

Marquez was informally known by fans and friends as JuanMa long before anybody had ever heard of Lopez.

It wasn't his official ring name or anything; that was always Dinamita - but it's like how Bradley is casually referred to as "Timbo" (although his ring name is Desert Storm)...or Hopkins as "B-Hop" (although his ring name is The Executioner)

JML doesn't have that **** trademarked or anything. The nickname isn't synonymous with him and him alone, and wasn't invented solely for his sake. It's been around for a long time.

It isn't used to refer to Marquez very often anymore, mainly to avoid confusion with Lopez, but he was boxing's main JuanMa much earlier.

Did you make that? Great work. I also thought of that punch when I saw the end of the fight. Devastating counter.

In fact, you are what's bad about boxing. Do you even like this sport? It's not about who's the expert or who can predict what can happen. It's about enjoying what happens in the ring (and sometimes out), and what perspective you have on what you see. I respect your interpretation of what you saw, with no malice. Don't disrespect mine, or anyone else's behind a pretense that you're a better fan than others. We're all fans, else why would we even be posting? I'm a fan of both fighters, and many fighters declared "great" have lost in the past, but I was making the point that in my lifetime I have never seen something like this before. For me and many others, this was like watching Marciano vs. Louis. Roy Jones had an air of invincibility before he was knocked out, but was not as popular as Pacquiao was globally or domestically. It's a shocking result to a great rivalry.

It was a great fight, but over all, not even the best among the FOTY candidates imo, as far as action Goes. Salido vs Lopez 2 is still by far the FOTY.

I was a little worried at the end, Marquez was getting hit too much, but knowing that he could seriously hurt Pac had me waiting for the next KD, but it wasn't a KD, it was a KO, I still can't believe it, KO came out of nowhere, kind of short, but over all great fight. Only thing I wanted was that Marquez didn't get stopped, no matter who won, but it was real ****ed up and weird seeing Pac down like that, I felt like it was Marquez who should have been the one down, since I'm used to him getting Knock down, but Manny? damn, and then he gets KOd, Williams/Hatton style DAAAAAMN! Not even MORALES WEN'T OUT LIKE THAT on his last fight. I wanna see Pac vs Matthysee - Rios - Guerrero - Garcia - May - Canelo - Cotto all at 147.

  13. Great work on the rbr.

I noticed Emmanuel Stewards absence from telecast created a bit of a void on this fight. being a long time pacman appreciator, he usually very vocal on these fights especially...

I've been around the whole time, following the three mexicans pretty religiously since the early days of MAB and I NEVER heard JMM referred to as Juanma with any regularity. Go ahead and look up some past articles calling him that, I'll gladly own up if I'm proven wrong.
