There is no way that the Pac who just obliterated Hatton would lose. Say Hatton is overrated or not.

    He has power
He can take a punch or a strong Welterweight puncher
    He is fast
He has great ring general ship
    He is intelligent

There are no way Tszyu would ever beat Pac. Tszyu is great but not as great.

I don't know to be honest....

Everytime this comes up...I have always said tszyu would be down by a little bit on the cards, and then manny would make mistakes over the course ofthe fight, and tszyu would eventually land a right hand that puts pacquiao down.....but after seeing pacquiao take cotto's best shots....

Pacquiao wins 117-111....Plus Tszyu quit on his stool against hatton showing he didnt have the resolve maybe to take a beating from pacquiao, hoping to land something big late...

I think being in the twilight of his career, Tszyu's determination and hunger wouldn't have been at an all time high.

well considering zab was boxing circles around kostya in the first round before being stupid in the second i think pacquiao maybe able to do the same thing and not be stupid like zab was and win.

Zab and Pacquiao fight NOTHING alike. Terrible comparison. That being said I think Kostya's power would end it for him in the middle rounds. Pac gets get no denying it and I simply don't think he could take Kostya's perfect straight right hand that he throws. Kostya was a very smart fighter in his prime fought well going backwards or forwards.

Washed up Hatton, DLH, or a less powerful/lesser defensive Miguel Cotto do not compare to a prime ATG at 140 in Kostya Tyzu.

Tszyu would have beaten Pac prime for prime at 140, people seem to forget just how good he was.

We still have different opinions on the matter i see. IMO with the right gameplan, Pac will beat Kostya to the punch (actually KT is one of my fave fighters, but i still see a pac victory). Somebody is comparing Kostya to Marquez. What a dumbass. Theyre still two different fighters. KT is a stationary sharpshooter and Marquez is a counterpunching phenom who can create angles.

TBH, KT, no matter how great he is when it comes to fundamentals and his impressive amateur background, is tailor made for Pacquiao.

    9 rounds to 3?

Was Tszyu that bad a boxer?

Tszyu quit on his stool aged 35 would he have done so 5 years earlier?

No he would have knocked Hatton out

Btw i agree with you Manny would win on points

    Poor Tszyu.

His resume doesn't do the guy justice. He's always going to cop some flak with people who think the Phillips fight somehow showed up a weakness against pressure fighters ... and his last ever fight against Hatton where he was valiant but unable to pull the trigger like he used to anymore at 36.

It's easy to forget he was one of the best amateur boxers you'll ever see with every punch in the book. Teddy Atlas and Chris Byrd both said Tszyu was the best boxer as an amateur that they'd ever seen. Sure that doesn't mean much as a professional, but the belief he was a 1-2 fighter is a fallacy.

Watch his first title fight against Rodriguez, only his fourteenth as a pro and there's a few times where he is so dominant you'd think he was the champ and Rodriguez a challenger. He destroyed the best versions of guys like Judah and Mitchell who were great fighters when they stepped into the ring against him. Mitchell hadn't been put down in eleven years. Add multiple world champs, multiple undefeated fighters, and he fought them in their backyards ... finally unifying a division that was considered one of the strongest in boxing at that time.

After TKOing Gonzales who had just come off a decision loss to a prime DLH, Gonzales even said Tszyu hit much harder. Even a guy like Hurtado wss coming off a long winning streak and Tszyu showed his body punching, when he went there, was as dangerous as his famed right.

I think the loss against Phillips, who fought brilliantly, showed he could be too arrogant at times ... his corner in that fight even told him to stop throwing bombs but he didn't listen. Unfortunately this moment will always be a question mark because along with a poor performance against a sturdy Lopez early on led to the (mis)belief he struggled with pressure. As was shown in the Hatton fight, Tszyu was guilty of moving off a gameplan at times ... and it cost him. The fourth and fifth rounds of the Hatton fight his corner said 'That's what we trained for ... keep him off with a stiff jab, move and throw the right. Stop fighting inside'. But Tszyu couldn't keep up the pace against a much younger, hungrier fighter and was worn down after expending too much effort early on trying to prove he could match Hatton on the inside.

He never got a defining fight against a name superstar ... but every time someone mentioned his name to DLH, Mosely, even Mayweather ... they all said he was a great fighter.

I'd never count Tszyu out against anyone at 140. In his prime, he was smart, could hurt you head or body, very solid chin, famed right and one of the most underated hooks off the left jab you'll see. His resume doesn't reflect how at his best, not his worst, he was as good as anyone at the weight.

I'd give him a good chance against Pac.
