Cotto is a big dude and a durable guy at 147. He took a good beating from Margo, I think he could handle pac.

I think pac would have a better chance against Cotto than PBF though. PBF stylewise everything favors him against pacman in that matchup. PBF can do everything JMM can do and better. All the reasons that Pac looked so well against DLH do not apply to a fight against PBF.

Cotto has fast hands but lets face it his chin is not the best and im convinced his stamana isnt that good eaither he looks a little flabby, im starting to questions his stamina...The reason I posted this fight is because I feel Manny can beat him...Cotto is short so its not like he would have such a huge "size" advantage...I posted this thread for debate reasons...Just my opinion, im a cotto fan but I feel cotto would not beat manny...I have my favorite fighters but im not blinded like the bandwagoneers...

    Boondock.....just messing with you....

Take a different approach towards the idea of a Manny Cotto matchup.

Cotto can switch up and is as Paulie said too physical with brute strength.
Manny's best chance is with Hatton and he will still come up short.

Were talking about legitimate proven welterweights.

Manny was at the right place at the right time with a washed up De La Hoya who's preparation for this fight was his own undoing and left him
washed up overnight. He is done!!!!

Don't sweat it...its all good fellow Rican.

These two are my favorite fighters right now.

Interesting fight. I think it would be competitive, but I don't think it should happen yet. I'd rather see Pac in with Hatton first, and let his body fill out a little bit more. He didn't need to cut to make 142 so I think he's still too small for 147.

I am not fooled by the DLH fight, that was a fighter who was faded, old, and showed up with no legs. I give a lot of credit to Pac though, because even a weight drained fighter can beat you given the chance.

However he showed me he can carry the weight, keep his stamina, speed, and power. He looks like he can still put on 2-3 lbs once his body gets acclimated to the weight and fight Cotto but only for Cotto fight. Margarito is too big, Williams too big, and Mosley's too big. I think this is the only fight I can see Pac be competitive against the top dog at 147. A PBF fight would be after a Hatton fight close to 140 IMO. I think PBF would be a harder fight than Cotto.

I don't think this is an assanine question at all. If you can put Pac in with Floyd why not Cotto? If you can put Hatton in with Cotto, why not Pac?

Cotto likes a slow pace fight, Pac fast pace type of fight. I question Cotto's stamina also. Pac is fast with quick hands, Cotto is slower fighter with quick hands. Cotto obviously has more power, but I think Pac has enough pop to get respect and be able to be competitive. I think Pac would do better than Hatton because Pac has shown he can neutralize the jab and left hook, he did it in Morales fight and now vs DLH. I don't know how Pac's chin will hold up as it has not been tested, but I think Pac's punches can have an accumulative effect on Cotto.

I give the edge to Cotto at 147 merely on his size and if he can bully Pac then I think the fight will end quickly, but if it's at a catch weight maybe 144-145 he's got a shot.

Pac is still too small for the top dogs at 147 but I think this is the only fight where he can be competitive against.

    OK,

What's wrong with some of these thread starters?!!!

    ESB baffles me once again.

WHERE IS THE "FAIL" BUTTON SO THAT I CAN LABEL THESE THREADS?!

THIS IS ANOTHER THREAD THAT IS FAIL! :patsch

Pacquiao cannot compete with the top welters,.....come on!

YES, he is very exciting to watch with lots of skill that can give some fighters trouble....but not against the top welters in the sport.

NO way he can handle the behemoths....do you want him to get seriously hurt or to die?

Again, this thread is not win. So much bandwidth gone to waste with this.

    :hi:

You're a noob for a reason. I'm very interested in seeing Pacman KTFO Hatton at 140. Sure he went up to 147 and his deficiencies were revealed, but he is world class at 140. Bring it on, it is the fight to be made:

    Pac vs Hatton

But keep these two guys well clear of Cotto, Margo, PW and co.
