Pacquiao at WW was an accumulation puncher more so than a banger. He hasn't been a true banger since he left 126 pounds. He hit Cotto with shot after shot after shot and Cotto to his credit almost survived the full 12 rounds. But in the end he broke. Which is very Cotto like.

Pac had many disadvantages going in he was jumping up weight classes was the much smaller man naturally and cotto nearly outweighed him by 20 ibs cotto also was a massive puncher he was not just big

Pac fought cotto the way someone shouldn't any sane fighter including Mayweather would fight cotto smart box him and avoid engaging with him too much but Pacquaio took it to cotto what made Pac's performance so special is he forced the stoppage over cotto.in the early rounds it was give and take but Pac's toughness and power and speed showed he physically overpowered cotto and cotto had no answer for Pacqauio

Yeah it was a masterclass by Pac, what a fighter. Credit to Cotto though, he's almost a too honest fighter, at certain points in fights you feel it would be better for him to hold than to fight, but he doesn't want to hold he just wants to fight.
