This is a perfect fight for both men.

We’ve seen that Mikey is simply too small for top 147s and too chunky now to slim down to 135 anymore. Who at 140 can give him a high payday fight? Also, how much a of legacy boost is this for Mikey if he beats PAC?

Manny on the other hand should probably stay away from Crawford and Spence. They are too big and too prime for this version of PAC who has shown diminished stamina last night. I am afraid they will use their physicality to wear PAC down. Mikey while powerful and skilled would not pose the same problem due to his size. Also, grabbing a p4p scalp like Mikey’s is no joke and would further solidify PAC’s reign.

    What say you?

its a good fight. i got mikey winning this one, pac just works out for mikeys style and temperament. hes a favorable dance partner for mikey. mikeys defense and chin is too good, imo, for pac to ko him. mikeys footwork is also geared towards dealing with a fighter whos game is angles. hes a master of the half step back, and he also pivots effortlessly off the front foot.
last night i saw lots of instances where mikey would have caught pac coming in, pac just doesnt have the speed to dart in and out before a good counter puncher can react. keith was catching him with some clear, on the button shots.
    mikey by 3 rds.

I think Mikey's style is better suited to beat Pac than Thurman's. Plus I think he's more skilled than Thurman. Also against Spence he was fighting a younger and bigger man. Against Pacquiao he would be fighting a far older and smaller man.

You don’t think Manny can make 140 without problems? He is tiny. The only reason he fights at 147 is because it’s a legacy division with the highest paydays imo. 140 is like an armpit of the sport. If it wasn’t such a **** division I think he’d fight there mostly.

Manny has a small frame. You can see it in how narrow his clavicles are and he's short as hell too. But he's in his 40s now. Cutting weight is harder as you age. And you can see how much softer his body is now than it used to be. He's getting older and the weight is starting to come on.

I think he can make 140 with ease though. Dude could have made 126 for most of his career if he didn't keep chasing more legacy and money. That's how small he is.

Bro... Mikey doesn't have the timing, skill, power, stamina, or chin of JMM. Pac tees off all night.

i agree. mikey likes to sit back, set traps and wait for you to make mistakes. when forced to move forward, mikey is out of his element. he is still skilled when moving forward, as long as his footwork is faster than yours. keith would keep too much room between them and his length gives him the advantage, since hes also faster than mikey.
i would still favor mikey over thurman, but i think he would have less success than he would vs pac.

He'd also be facing a far older Manny Pacquiao than Marquez did. Can you imagine Marquez in his prime fighting a 40 year old Manny? It would be a wipeout for Marquez.

Mikey is highly skilled no doubt but to knock out PAC in 3? No way. I understand you support Texas fighters but you over exaggerated this time.

My fault, I misread your post. Yeah, that makes much more sense.

I am actually puzzled by this fight, not sure what to make of it.

12 months ago this thread would’ve been completely different as far as opinions. I guess end of the day it’s that speed and awkward angles that manny brings, same as it ever was

nothing to do with you, but i understand how people less familiar with whats happening in the ring, the reasons its happening, and what it means, would get the wrong idea about mikey based on his performance vs spence. there is a reason spence didnt just bulldoze mikey like he has bigger fighters, he knew what could happen, because of what mikey can do.
