He's a 3 division world champion whose only lost to Errol Spence and has beaten the likes of Robert Easter Jr, Adrien Broner, Orlando Salido, Sergey Lipnets, Roman Martinez and Jesse Vargas. How is he a grifter?
He's extremely inactive, he's not as trim at 140 or 147, and he doesn't seem like the same monster he was at 135.
This would be a good B-side to a major card and a decent farewell for Pac but that's about it. Fight will barely make a ripple on the WW standings.
Not excited for this one at all. Really hope this doesn't get signed. I'd much prefer to see Manny in with the top guys from 147.
Garcia is probably Pac's best opponent since Floyd. He's talented enough to possibly beat Pac. The only thing is that this fight does not really mean much other than maybe being Pac's last fight.
My point exactly. I think Pacman should just fight a gimme and retire. None of the current "stars" near his weight in boxing deserve to have that torch passed to them. None of them deserve to have his name on their resume. I would be especially tickled to see them all denied the massive payday. In this era of PhD nutritionists, designer PEDs and rehydration for a day before the fight, if Bob Arum or Al Haymon decided to engineer a weight jump and a couple of belts for my dead grandmother, they could. That stuff counts but little with me. Sometimes it matters, but mostly not. Broner?! You're citing Broner?! I'm looking at that list of guys there and off the top of my head, I think they were all (or nearly all? Roman Martinez might have been a legit threat?) recently knocked out or had been utterly pwnd when Garcia fought them and had managed to pick up a belt somewhere which is why Mikey fought them. Team Garcia maneuvered carefully, calling out everybody and their brother, but fighting none of them and then, finally , accepted a challenge worthy of Mikey's abilities and the big **** he talks and what happened then? This was supposed to take place in Saudi July last year. I really rate Mikey and I wish he stayed at 135 and fought Loma for the Undisputed Title or moved up to 140 and fought Taylor or Ramirez instead. I think he beats Pacquiao by a few rounds.
