Manny Pacquiao vs Paul Williams

Well often when PW fights, he fights the wrong gameplan. Against Cintron it was obvious he should have been agressive and taken his heart, he chose to box. Against Martinez it was obvious he had to be careful to avoid getting countered, he chose to be a swarmer.

The guy is not exactly the best tactitian.

 

What example do you have of where Pac has fought this lanky of a puncher/boxer? Let alone the last south paw he beat?

PW just beat the brakes off Winky Wright, had 2 fights with quintana and a close fight with martinez.

That's 4 fights with 3 talented south paws.

PW is all wrong for pacquiao.

 

PWill @ 147lbs. is freakish height. What's the tallest boxer pac ever fought?

 

Winky is the most stationary target in the history of stationary targets (2nd most after Clottey actually).

Pacquiao is the antithesis of that. What is it about Quintana that bothered PW? His movement and control of distance. What is it about Martinez that bothered PW? His movement and control of distance.

Where does the success behind Pac's in and out motion come from? His movement and control of distance. Pac has the fastest feet in the sport bar none. Its a completely different fight from Winky.

Look, unlike other idiots in this thread who just like to hate manny, I understand what his talents and skill level are, but I can't see him getting inside on PW to even connect to his face, let alone ko/ud him.

PW is a freak of nature, and Manny is still a small small WW.

You can only take him so far up the ladder before you have to pull the reigns and see the limits.

This is what you're failing to realize...Quintana was able to catch Williams coming in...Meaning he was fighting off the back foot! This is something I dont see Manny doing well...Manny seems to not fight good going backwards hence me saying that he's not a better counterpuncher than Quintana...You best to believe that WIlliams is going to throw a lot of leather and he will be able to back the smaller Manny up...Manny his past fights have shown that he's not COMFORTABLE going backward.

Call me a hater all you want but that doesnt change the fact that you cant handle other's opinion if its not hugging Manny...I'll say it again...IMO Quintana is the better counter puncher of the two!

 

Paul Williams would batter Pac, 15" of reach from a guy that throws as many punches as Williams does would be too much. Not to mention Williams has a lot of heart and will fight through being hurt. Bottom line Pac wants no part of Pwill.

That fight has no chance of ever happening anyways.

If it would... Paul's size may be a definite problem for Pac as the fight moves on, but on the other hand, Williams is one of those fighters that doesn't properly utilize his reach and size advantage.

The only time I saw Paul truly fight tall was against Margarito, mainly in the first part of their fight, where he was simply jabbing Margo's ears off while moving constantly.

Williams likes to fight close on the inside, while often bent forward doing so. If Paul fights by instincts like that against Pac while Manny sticks & moves all night, then Pacquiao has a chance to upset Williams. If Paul fights a smart fight, Manny won't have much of a chance. But again, I wouldn't be surprized to see Williams go back to his instinctive ways, cause that's what he does !
