Judging on what each guy accomplished at 122, and common opponents (Barrera, Morales), Paq has the edge in this one. Paulie was a good, busy, boxer, Paq a little stronger and considerably a better puncher. When Paulie moved up in competition to fight Morales and Barrera he lost rather badly. Paq beat Morales 2 out of three, with the loss being close, and won emphatically the other 2 times, while Ayala lost a comparitivly one sided decision to Eric. Paq also won twice clearly over Barreara , while Ayala was stopped. My best guess is Paulie would lose to Paq at 122 by late stoppage or clear decision.
some would say its an unfair comparison having Paulie fight them in their "primes" and Pac in their "post primes". this will be another bashing thread
I don't even think Paulie was the victor in his series with Johnny Tapia.....I believe he was a bit overrated, and this was Pac's best weight IMO... I think Pac stops him mid-to-late rounds.
Pac and Morales fought at 130 while Paulie lost to Eric at 126 so this proves nothing if they fought at 122. That being said i favor Pacquiao...Too fast, too powerful....
