How would this one go? At both LW and WW I think Duran definetly wins on points at WW, at LW also. Thoughts?
Would bee interesting to see what kind of fight Duran would fight. He could do a number on Pac just counterpunching, I think. It's hard to know exactly how far Pac has improved against such fighters after Marquez, though. A fight against PBF would shed some light on this.
Hagler was the greatest southpaw champion up to his time, and Duran had no great stylistic issues with a near peak Marv. Hagler's greater size and youth were key factors in his pulling out that one. El Cholo's body work would be tremendously useful in dealing successfully with Pac.
Ask Freddie. He'll say for the third time that his boy ain't beating that crazy Panamanian. (And he doesn't even think about, D.T.)
Is it just me or did Roach say he beats Duran in this interview - http://www.craveonline.com/sports/interviews/140130-freddie-roach-talks-boxing And says he loses to Duran in this interview (2:50) - [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OhC69fcsAE[/ame]
That was during that time that Pacquiao was not yet proven at higher weights,Roach does not even want Pacquiao to stay at 147 after the Oscar fight, but in later interviews, Roach thinks Pacquiao beats Duran.
Yeah I think Freddie is picking his own guy over Duran these days...Still picking SRL over Pac though I think at welter. Addendum: Oh well...nevermind. LOL.
Duran would win at both weights. While I think Pacquiao is better on the offensive end, Duran is better on the defensive end.
