Top guys at Golden Boy Promotions confirmed that Ryan vs Pacquiao won't happen. Ryan vs Teofimo is more possible to happen than Ryan vs Pacquiao. That's what they said. So, they don't wanna see Ryan getting knocked out for the first time in his life. This crap didn't surprise me at all.
BBC still has a question mark over it, but has also ran a story on it potentially happening, so i wouldn't try to book your tickets just yet.
First time I heard this rumour, I didn't believe it in the first place. Pacquiao is Eight Different Weight- Classes World Champion while Ryan is not even the World Champion at the moment. Besides, Pacquiao is at 147 while Ryan is at 135.
Who knows what to believe from the fake news media. King Ry , I cannot imagine, will be allowed to cross platforms to be starched (and he will be starched) by Teofimo. I also have to imagine he'd make half the money against Lopez than Pacman(?) right? Also, Pac doesn't murder people anymore. He's a christian goodboy. Teofimo is looking to behead people and take scalps. So the play is Tank Davis I assume. Of course watching two prime warriors in Garcia vs. Tank is a far and away my preferred fight.
It's in negotiations, reports say that Team Pac was the one that contacted Ryan/GB with an offer to fight. But there hasn't been much details beyond that from actual Pacquiao. Some rumors say the delay is always about money. Pac always wants a minimum of $20 mil per fight, but honestly the money is usual not there. And even with Ryan's supposed star power, I doubt he can yet make a ppv that generates enough profit to make those kind of paydays to Pac and himself. Not to mention the risk this fight could cause to his future earnings potential assuming he loses via KO. Honestly, financially I'm not sure it makes sense. Yes fighting Pac is an opportunity, but in some ways an unnecessary risk. Why not fight Linares or some other lightweight and guarantee a win. Thereby getting continuous small paydays, while growing your skills as fighter. This would prepare Ryan much better to eventually face Teo, Tank, Haney and any other dangerous opponent
I think like this. Ofc 42 y.o Pacamn might be evaluated as less dangerous for him if compare with Vergil Ortiz Jr. Unless he will insist on 147 lbs. Pacman is very big name and might demand a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ there. This too does matters damn a lot.
