vasquez should have taken a knee and composed himself the idiot!
lack of experience showing there. had he gone down and taken the time to regroup, the corner wouldnt have needed to throw the towel in

    Round 11

Vazquez comes out to meet Arce dead center, and stands toe to toe with him. Arce makes a stand and knocks Vazquez's head back a little but is missing a lot more than he's touching with. Vazquez takes a flush left hook while backing to the ropes. They grapple around, with Arce lobbing in right hands to the ribs. Vazquez has his head snapped back by a leaping Arce jab. Arce pushes him to the ropes, really taking over this round. Loads and loads of punches. Vazquez is completely overwhelmed by punched from the 50-year-old Mexican in the 30-year-old body. Vazquez gets tackled to the ground, exhausted. Arce just keeps slugging away, with Vazquez trying to contain Arce by swaddling his head in his arms. Arce will not be denied. Vicious inside work by Arce.

    10-9 Arce

    Round 12

They embrace before going to war one last time. Arce comes on strong, hooking away like crazy. Vazquez is in trouble!!!! Vazquez is on the ropes getting his head rocked!!! ARCE GOING FOR THE KO!!!! VAZQUEZ THROWS BACK!!!! ARCE IS SLAMMING HIM HARD!!!! VAZQUEZ AGAINST THE ROPES LOOKING DAZED!! ARCE WINS!!! TKO12!!!

**what weight classes has Arce won titles in? Super Bantamweight. Super Flyweight. Light Flyweight

Cortez could have damaged Vasquez, he just let him take 30 or so flush punches to the head

On behalf of a Puerto Rican here.

To all you Mexicans, that was a great fight. Congrats, Puerto Rico vs Mexico continues to put on world class battles!!!! Arce is just relentless, and Vazquez jr... OMG no experience, kid is heroic - going in there with a veteran monster in Arce like that and fighting like a MAN. PR can be proud with what Vazquez Jr did tonight.

    AMAZING!

Good point about taking a knee but he wouldn't have recovered, he was totally dazed and exhausted. Arce was going to finish him off anyway, it was too early in the round and had all the time he needed. If you notice Vasquez was stunned in round 11 and never recovered from it even after the one minute in the corner. Taking a knee is a good choice but in this situation it wasn't going to help.

He gave him the chance he needed and not all of those punches landed, a lot were missing. Cortez didn't do a bad job there at all.

People are just over emotional when it comes to Cortez lately.

Cortez did a good job and only stopped the fight because Vazquez' corner wanted it stopped. Jr. was getting hit a lot and not trying to hold or defend himself. He could have gotten ruined. His father was right to save his fighter from himself.

    great point :good

thing is, arce was running on pure adrenaline at that point. if he took some time out and clinched for a few seconds maybe just maybe arce would not have been as effective in taking vasquez out. he may have survived the round. but in all likelyhood like you said, he was on his way to being stopped. 2 minutes is an eternity in boxing

Seriously, what is with all these Mexicans who are supposed to be shot to **** after having looked really bad for a while suddenly digging down in big fights and turning back the clock with epic performances? :huh
