Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley & undercard RBR

Round 3

Clinch straight away. Pacquiao comes jabbing in and is able to shoot his left hand up straight into Mosley's face. Pacquiao is not as successful swiping with his right hook. Mosley ducks off to the side with his arms out in a net to drag the waters, and there is an low blow unseen by Bayless during the ensuing inside scuffle. Mosley slaps out with his left forearm, trying to set Pacquiao up for a right hand. MOSLEY IS KNOCKED DOWN!!! Mosley recovers quickly and is up at the count of 7. Mosley looks more embarrassed than anything. Mosley clinches as Pacquiao jabs at him and rocks him again. Mosley is on the back foot, trying to regain his land legs. Mosley circles to the ropes, bounces off and gets off to the left with plenty of space between them. Pacquiao swarms in with fast punches but falls short as Mosley wisely maintains some distance.

Round 4


Pacquiao paws with the right jab and throws a lead left to the body. Mosley jabs and pecks with his right while backing up and quickly slingshots himself forward to tie up. Pacquiao starts to lay the speed on him again and Mosley careens off to the left and loses his balance. No KD correctly called by Bayless. Pacquiao is walking straight through a trickle of body shots by Mosley abnd hooking hard with the right. Hard right hooks landing behind the ear and above the belt line. Mosley jabs and slides away. Pacquiao can't score with his jab as Mosley turns his body inward and keeps moving. Nice 1-2 from Mosley.

Round 5

Pacquiao takes a jab to the lower chest as he's lazily jabbing with his right. Pacquiao tries to bend down and surprise Mosley with quick body jabs. Mosley complains to Bayless about a headbutt but the action is not paused. Pacquiao circles Mosley quickly in a crab-walk. Pacquiao keeps his guard up and stands just at the end of Mosley's jab, peering through at him. Mosley blocks a jab and skips off to the side. Jab from Mosley. Pacquiao lands a good 1-2, partially taken on the gloves but bursting them apart. Mosley jabs to the guard and throws a right to the body. Bayless immediately breaks up a short clinch as both simply step together, neither wanting to play the role of counter puncher at that moment. Pacquiao jabs with his right and Mosley parries with his left. Mosley is backed up with a right hook and circles wide away from Pacquiao, defending well but losing the round on activity.

Round 6

Mosley jabs and moves to the left. Pacquiao is throwing wide right hooks and some sloppy rights on the inside. Mosley ducks a wild but fast right hook. Again Pacquiao misses but narrowly. Mosley triples his jab coming forward just up to a point, not wanting to get all the way inside. Mosley is doing very well boxing behind the jab on the outside and not getting hit. Pacquiao makes slight contact with a right hook but Mosley keeps tagging him with that left jab while moving just outside of Pacquiao's flurrying range.


Round 7

Mosley jabs and stays on the outside. Pacquiao doesn't go for the throat, just circling along with him and watching him warily. The crowd boos the "FOTY". Pacquiao doubles his right jab just for show. Both do lots of posing. Mosley is sticking his long jab, and moving his head when Pacquiao comes at him.

 

Round 8

Pacquiao just goes for it, getting inside and throwing both hands. Mosley is ducking down and grabbing low. Pacquiao doing most of the attacking. Mosley just pushes with his jab. Pacquiao flurries and hits guard. Mosley is sliding just out of reach. Pacquiao is only able to get off once or twice at a pop. Rights to the body landing for Pacquiao. Mosley is just flicking out his jab and taking nimble steps back. Nice right hand by Mosley, mostly blocked.
