    Good stoppage by Count Vladimir. If there would have been blood Vic woulda been blood raged.

    I see some things I like with benavidez. Commits to his punches, especially the body. Good height and reach. Stiff jab. Young, 18 yrs. busy lots of pro and amateur fights.

    Things I dont like. Doesnt fight tall. He leans so far forward that at times his chin is farther forward than his lead foot (balance issue) also squares him up. He pulls straight back trying to use his height as his defense. No lateral movement.

    I see a lot of room for development for him.

    I don't know, I'm just not seeing that "wow" factor in Benavidez yet. He has flaws. As somebody said he leans forward with the jab, hands are down at times, D is leaky. Now, obviously, he's only 18 and very green, but still I'm just not seeing that wow factor yet at of him. Damn good, but just not super impressive yet ATM.

    I agree. No sense in this mismatch. It's clear that Hope was hoping for a Hail Mary wild shot and that's all he had. Good stoppage. Let's move on to the next fight.

    yes I would like to see more foot work and lateral movement from benavidez, but he has the basics down with strong jab and work to the body, there is no rush for him as he is only 18

    I agree, but he is doing everything right. Staying busy, getting good sparring, getting television time. Stopping guys. I think he does need quite a bit of skill development, especially on defense.

    My worry is that even though he is only 18 yrs old he had 300 amateur fights and already 10 pro fights and he might be resistant to change and he needs a guy to make those adjustments for him if he is going to really amount to a ppv star,.

    We might not see him unless Mayol-Gallo ends early (starting now).

    There isn't time for both a 10-rounder and a 4-rounder between now and 9pm when the PPV starts.

    Yeah, the commentators just said they extended Mayol-Gallo from 8 to 10 rounds to fill out the time.

    So we'll only see Gonzalez-Rosario as filler if there's a very fast KO here or on the PPV card.

    Mayol leans in with his chin behind his gloves. Gallo slaps away with either hand, aiming for the sideburns of Mayol. Gallo comes in with a loose jab, not landing it but setting himself up to land a very nice right hand to the chin. Mayol is just circling and flicking out single shots, not snapping them. The squat, thickly built Gallo comes barging in and slaps with overhands. Mayol takes several sliding steps back, to the ropes. Gallo gets in and bangs him on the ribs with his right hand while holding his left up perpendicular to intercept any counters. Mayol doesn't even throw any.

    I'm lucking out. :conf Top Rank Live and ESB are both working like a charm for me for the time being...knock on wood...

    Earlier this afternoon ESB was nearly kaput. I don't know if the damn Brits/Euros are to blame (casual fan lurkers just pouring in for the Int'l Prizefighter and/or Sylvester-Geale) or if it was Holyfield fans...but this ***** was crashing hard. :yep

    It won't be anything compared to what happens when the pinoys invade in a couple of hours, though. :-(

    Top Rank is surprisingly smooth for once; I haven't had to refresh yet. :think
