Simon Brown was an awesome and very underrated welterweight back in the 80's and early 90's, but he wasn't an all time great wheras Pac is certainly knocking on the door of that fraternity. I voted for Pac by knockout or stoppage.
I'll take Pac by decision. I think his quickness and movement present problems for Brown. Brown would be very difficult in the trenches but I don't see Pac allowing that much.
Pac hasnt beaten anyone as good as Brown yet at welterweight. Brown was big and strong and he wouldnt fold up. I would take Brown by KO.
If Brown actually used some of his underrated boxing ability instead of coming in head-on looking to bomb Pac out of there then I think he wins clearly. Brown was no mug when it came boxing ability and was a nifty counter puncher as well, unfortunately for him he liked to engage in a shootout far too often for his own good and against Pac that would prove costly as Manny is faster of both hand and foot. Brown by decision or late TKO if he boxes smartly and doesn`t get lured into a brawl, if he does though then Pac likely takes it by decision with a KD or two along the way of Brown.
People forget that Cotto gave Paq a very tough battle .. busting his eardrum in the process and dealing out some serious punishment ... I like Brown here ... Simon had a rock chin and terrific stamina and power ... he was also fairly fast and quite tricky ..
Basically, you're taking the young Simon Brown of the mid to late 80's to stop Pacquiao and the Brown of the early to mid 90's to lose comprehensively? That's how I see it as well. Brown was a different fighter in those periods of his career.
