‘Born Again’ Pacquiao vows to dazzle live on Primetime (Sky Channel 480)
LONDON (24 May 2012) - Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao has experienced a religious awakening in recent months but he knows his new found pacifism cannot be carried into the ring when he faces the undefeated three-time world Timothy Bradley on Saturday June 9th, live on Primetime (Sky Channel 480 and Virgin on Demand).
The reigning WBO welterweight world champion is keen to impress but he knows he will have his work cut out against the young and hungry Bradley who cleaned up the 140lb division before now moving up in weight to face the legendary Pacquiao.
Following a close points decision win against his nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez last November, ‘Pacman’ is refusing to take his foot of the gas against the skilled Bradley.
“I don’t know what Tim Bradley will bring in the ring on that night but we will be ready for whatever he brings. I know he will be 100% conditioned for the fight. We have practiced every kind of fight in the ring with four different sparring partners,” said Pacquiao.
“Bradley is a different type of fighter [to Marquez] and we don’t take this fight lightly. We have trained hard for Bradley because he is the type of fighter we cannot underestimate. Tim Bradley is undefeated and he is a champion,” he said.
Pacquiao’s life outside the ring has recently undergone a transformation with the eight-time world champion now frequently left spending his free time reading the Bible whenever he is not training, or fulfilling his role as a Congressman in the Philippines.
However, he is adamant that his new devout lifestyle will not get in the way when he faces off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on June 9th.
“When I committed my life to the Lord I gave up many things that were not in keeping with what the Bible teaches. Boxing is a job and I do not look at it as anything more than that. It will not affect my job,” he said.
Pacquiao’s well renowned trainer Freddie Roach agrees and thinks that his new found piety can only help his prodigy.
“Manny’s focus is very good,” said Roach. “We don’t have days where he comes in tired and so forth because he has no nightlife whatsoever, besides the bible study. He is very focused on the fight. He and God are very close right now and he is just a better athlete – with no distractions,” he said.
Speaking about fight night, Roach added: “If a knockout comes it will be a bonus. Bradley is a great fighter and he’ll be resilient, but I think you’ll see the best Manny Pacquiao yet.”
In what is set to be one of the best fights of the year, Manny Pacquiao vs. Tim Bradley will be broadcast live and exclusive in the UK on Primetime (Sky Channel 480 and Virgin on Demand) for £14.95.
Pacquiao vs Bradley will be shown on Primetime, Channel 480 on Sky and Virgin On Demand, on Saturday night 9th June (Sunday Morning) for only £14.95.
To order call 0871 200 4444, Virgin customers go to On Demand>Pay Per View > Live events. Or go online at www.primetimelive.co.uk

Cheers Pers :good & Venus as well :good.

Manny's got a lot of excuses, far to many for my liking.

Terry Norris interview: Believes Bradley will shock world and also says Mayweather and Pacquiao wouldn't last in old school era against him and his foes.

I favour Bradley in this match up. He has the versatility, skills and complete fight game to tax Pacman's arse. He may even get a stoppage win.

The more I think about it, the more I'm starting to think Bradley can cause the upset.

What is stopping me putting a lump on him is that he's not Marquez, basically. He's not proven that he can time an opponent in the same way, and take practically everything away from them.... at times in the third fight Pacquiao just looked like he could do a Duran.... throw his arms up and just quit. He was so lost in there it was untrue.

The smarts/technical ability that they've added to him has completely blunted his ability to dominate and defeat technical type fighters. He's more hesitant, throws less punches etc etc.

Marquez is probably a harder puncher than Bradley, certainly a more accurate one too.

Hopefully this is Pac's last fight. Ideally I'd like a 4th fight but the superiority of Marquez has long been proven anyway.

They gonna release 'The idiots guide to excuses: Manny Pacquiao Edition'. It's beyond a joke now. I didn't like when he laughed when presenter asked 'whats changed?'. He went 'no drinking, no girls '. Not the sorta reaction from a man upset at his behavior.

I hope Bradley does it, my main worry is him burning out in camp. Peaking to early but if he's sharp and listens to Joel he will shock the world this saturday. He's got a little bit of everything needed bar the massive power but he's got respectful power. I haven't seen anyone just charge at him with utter contempt.

I think he will mix it up, slip inside at times and outwork Manny inside. Manny's strong but so's Bradley and he has a better inside game. I think he will work to the body while Manny 'rests'.

I expect a better more sharper Pacquiao but if Bradley frustrates him enough and executes the isolation plan he will win IMO.

This fight will be over by the mid rounds. Tim Bradley is a solid fighter, solid basic skills. But he is just to slow, his movements are slow and so are his hands. I am not trying to make out he has Carl Froch type slowness, because does not. But he dies not have elite level speed, and up against this Pacman? Forget the pacman vs Marquez, I honestly believe Pacman was weak for some reason, his physical skills speed and power, seemed to have decreased. Steriods..? Who knows. But for me Paman has looked immense in training, he looks physical stronger, and back to his bionic best.

Bradley will be hit in this fight, when he launches his own attacks. If you have considerable faster hand speed than you're oponent you can ether counter punch, or punch when your oponents punching catch them between punches. Manny PAC did just this against Cotto, knocked him down, and forced him to cover up as if he was shielding himself from machine gun fire.

Manny PAC is no great shakes when it comes to punching technique, like Roy Jones or Floyd Mayweather, who make single shots artistic.

But Manny PAC has spitt fire hand speed, his punch technique is satisfactory. And in this fight, I just feel Pacmans foot speed will be too much. Like a F-15 fighter jet, Pacman will be out of their whenever Bradley's radar detects Pacman in range.

Manny PAC is working with satellite transmission, Bradley is working with a radar and radio waves.

A solid fighter, if he had more speed. I would probably pick him to win, technically he knows history bea Pacman, but he dies not have the physical skills to carry out such a game plan.

I couldn't agree more with that. As you say Bradley is too unproven at the very highest level to consider putting too big a bet on him but Pacquiao is clearly a fighter in decline and for me has been since the Cotto fight, but with the likes of Clottey and Mosley being so poor against him that questions weren't really asked, Margarito was the perfect opponent to make him look brilliant from an offensive view at least but was dominated in almost embarrassing fashion by Marquez and despite what Manny and Roach say they know just as well as everyone else that he lost by quite a margain.

I'm going for Pacquiao on points with the verdict being extremely debatable.

It's bull**** IMO, just a story for 24/7!

I honestly think Manny will put him on his arse, and unlike the Mosley fight he will go for the kill and stop him. It's all set to hype the Mayweather fight. :deal

I think Manny will look ragged until he lands the bomb, as soon as that hits Timmy's plans will go out the window, I'm thinking we have a potential chicken-dance as Bradley's legs struggle to hold the weight of that massive dome!
