While it'll never happen, it could theoretically happen, after all many Pacquiao according to Freddie Roach can still make 140 with relative ease, and when Lomachenko rehydrates its usually in the 136-138 range, so if given 6 months with the right strength and conditioning coach I doubt Loma would have a hard time at all making 140. Manny is only 5'5 1/2 whereas Lomachenko is 5'7, so Loma would have the height advantage, Manny's reach is 67' and Loma's is 65' so the slight reach advantage goes to Manny. And let's be honest, its not like Loma hasn't fought a Welterweight before, since his second match he fought one who also happened to punch him in the nuts over a hundred times as an added bonus.

While it may seem implausible..... entertain this notion for a few seconds. Could Loma brutally school Pacquiao or will Hi-Tech get gobbled up by the Pac-Man instead?:think

I'm swaying towards Pacquiao -- possibly by razor-thin UD, or an SD; however, it's not beyond the realms of possibility Loma could outpoint Pacman, if Lomachenko gets into a rhythm really early in the fight, finds his range, and starts to time Pacquiao's shots and lateral movement.

While Lomachenko may rehydrate to 138, Pacquiao, generally speaking, rehydrates to 152-155. This could make all the difference in the clinches, and in fighting on the inside -- which is possibly the only thing Lomachenko needs to improve on.

It's either a Lomachenko UD or a Pacquiao KO. It's not going to end any other way. It is a very unfair matchup though that heavily favours Pacquiao.

Lomachenko would win every second of every round. Manny is very predictable and not a smart fighter at all. Bradley would be a tougher match up.

PAC wouldn't hit Loma in the ass with a broomstick.

Well according to some Pac can make 135 with ease :nut

But to your post, assuming Loma makes 140 comfortably, at this stage in their careers, I'd probably take Loma. Pacquiao is still game but against a skillful opponent like Loma (assuming he's not bloated), I think Pacquiao eats counters to a MD loss.

This is assuming both men are at their current career height and built for 140.

I wonder if Loma would lose power or gain it at 140.:think I wonder if Manny's power would come back or if its just naturally gone forever at this point?:think

The Pacquiao who beat Hatton would be close to unbeatable at 140

Loma Vs. Hatton at 140:think If Collazo can unofficially beat Hatton Loma would school him with ease.

Interesting thread. But why not have this hypothetical matchup take place at 126?

Because Loma's and Pacquiao's best weight class was 126 lbs.

This. I don't know why it had to be at 140lbs when Loma has never been a 140lber.

I'd confidently pick Lomachenko for a UD vs Pacquiao at 126lbs.

But Loma only has one good win - WBC Champ Russell Jr
He's going to need far more wins against good opposition for people to feel like they can accurately gauge his H2H ability.

IMO he's the best fighter in the world, even when Mayweather was around for MayPac. Giving him Piriyapinyo, Rodriguez and Koasicha is a big royal joke.
