That's extremely unfair to be honest. Why would you steal the dreams of some young amateur who has been working hard to get on the Olympics just so you can give a wild card to some way past his prime possibly shot pro with a name? We don't even know how seriously Pacman would take it, maybe he would just show up to take some selfies with fans and enjoy the Copacabana beach.

And if they give Pacman a go why not also invite guys like Vitali Klitschko, Roy Jones Jr, James Toney and other big names past their prime? They deserve it as much as Pacquiao. It sets a stupid precedent.

Hey, IB did you delete my comment which said Pacquiao outlanded Mayweather, and would be a better amateur than Mayweather because of the new scoring systems love for effective aggression?

Anyway, 2015 world champion Mohammed Rabii and 2013 world champion Daniyar Yeleussinov would have something to say about Manny's Olympic Gold hopes.

Amir Khan will win Gold this time, he 'only' attained silver because he was up against one of the GOATs. Amir Khan will fight at 165lbs

    Sure Manny go for it...

take the easy route to Rio (wildcard or skipping prelim qualifiers, as mentioned previously in thread) and go beat the **** out of some amateur teenagers!

It's gonna do HUGE amounts for your legacy and your people.

Don't worry about the guys spot u just robbed who's likely been busting their ass for years for the opportunity!

Whine some more lol. They have been doing this for decades in other sports. Did you expect Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Serena Williams, Dirk Nowitzki, Federer etc etc to go thru qualifiers too?

    Stupid precedent... lol
