Manny Pacquiao will fight Michael Katsidis "if the price is right".

Once again with this Melissa. It needs to stop. Pacquiao i can assure you will not go from fighting Barrera to Katsidis, why Rocky isnt a big enough name. where you get your stuff from is unbelievable. You can bet after Barrera the first thing on Pacs mind will be a big money fight with JMM.

as for Katsidis im sure he would love to fight Pacman but he isnt a big enough name i mean Guzman pulled out of fighting Katsidis so i doubt Pacman will risk a average paying fight to jump up in weight against a guy that can bang in Rocky.

Expect Katsidis next fight to be someone of the Amonsot mould again then it will be Juan Diaz as they both own the WBO belt and have to fight according to WBO orginization by the next year at least.

OH and this goes to every one from what ive read and heard that HBO are trying to get a fight between Katsidis vs David Diaz to happen for the start of 2008.

They want a slugfest to start of the year and thought these two names would be perfect and are trying to get both parties interested.

Now David DIaz is a safer easier fight for a up and comer like Rocky.

To Melissa this would have been a better subject to write about in your boxing column.
Also Melissa dont take what i say to heart im just stating what i feel has more of a chance of happening in the boxing world. Yes Rocky vs Pacman would be a great fight but Pacman wont risk his rep and everything else he has earned over the years to fight a KO artist at a heavier weight just for a Interem WBO belt for less money than sau fighting JMM for more money and a bigger name.

Katsidis vs David Diaz in Jan mark it down because when you have the backing of say HBO 80% of the time the fight gets put on.

 

david diaz vs katsidis will be a good fight but i think it is more likely that david diaz gets the winner of julio vs juan (how ludicrous is it to have 3 champs named diaz at one weightclass), anyway, as i've said, i see the loser of julio vs juan, i'm betting julio, will take on katsidis

 

well im going by what HBO wants and thats a WBC and WBO title fight in David Diaz vs Michael Katsidis in Jan because i doubt very much Julio Diaz or Juan will be able to fight then as they are not fighting 13th of October i doubt very much any of them will be ready to fight again until say at least April.

Trust Me David Diaz vs Michael Katsidis in say Jan. HBO wants this fight bad and they want there managers to make this fight happen and i bet like its been stated they are willing to put huge amounts of money up for this fight to happen.

Also on average Julio fights every 8 months and Juan fights every 6 months on average. And im betting Katsidis they want back in the ring by at least Jan or Feb by the latest. Just food for thought.

 

yeah. i was thinking more of what i think should happen rather that what's close to happening. anyway, you're right. then a match between the winner of the two unification fights will be in the works, i hope.

david diaz is a good opponent for katsidis. tailor made. if old el terrible dropped david, i have no doubt that katsidis can too. that fight would be a barnburner and i absolutely understand why hbo is pushing for it

Like i said the news of this story is getting momentum and all i will say is that i guess maybe i sould have done a journalist course.

Like i said Melissa here is a great chance at a decent story within the boxing circles of Aussie Boxing fans im just trying to give you more info into what goes on. I mean Katsidis and David Diaz fought around the same time and with Julio Diaz and Juan Diaz not fighting until the 13th of October i doubt any of those two would be ready for a fight against Katsidis until say April at the earliest.

Im just trying to give you some info. Thats it you can take it or leave it **** i dont really care but this story of Katsidis vs Diaz will only grow with the backing of HBO.

 

i read in 1 of the aussie mags that the amonsot-katsidis card was the second biggest pperview behind may-delahoya this yr so far...i think kat is/will be quite marketable in the states...but i know what ur saying mate
