Marquez is a great fighter. Pacquiao fought him at Marquez's best weight, and at least once before he (Pacquiao) had truly hit his prime. AND dropped him three times in that fight. There's no way these fights diminish my opinion of Manny. They DO lead me to wonder though if he has improved so much in the intervening timeframe that he can defeat a technical counterpuncher who is much, much trickier to figure out than Marquez.
Well, if you are gonna go making my point in a much more concise manner then fine, but just don't go expecting me to thanki you for it!
I think it was because Hatton had the more experience at 140lbs, and we'd never seen how Manny would handle a physically imposing fighter who could punch pretty well. I didn't expect Manny to punch as well as he did, and not to many expected the sudden ending in the 2nd round. Nothing to do with hatred, unlike you, I try and breakdown fights. Manny gave me a reason to think he'd lose many of his recent bouts. For the same reason he has become so revered over the last 3-4 years...because he's challenging himself.
All the bull**** in this thread aside, here's a great comparison: Rank these 3 fighters p4p for their career: Vernon Forrest Shane Mosley Ricardo Mayorga I can say with pretty good certainty that most would rank Mosley 1st, Vernon 2nd and Mayorga 3rd. We all know how their fights played out.
the fights were too close to call either way would have been the same outcome in peoples eyes i think... personally i wanted JMM to win, some people just have other peoples numbers sometimes as well.. in any case the cotto fight really impressed me that pacman vs the jmm that fought mayweahter would i think take jmm out decisevly.
