It was against Antonio Margarito. An iron chinned 165 pound Margarito who was programmed to do one thing and one thing only–come forward and try to kill you.

It was a savage fight and Margarito beat the prime out of Pac. Pac even said himself that he was "lucky" to have survived and won the fight. This interview was from THIS January.

Nah, he dominated Margo from the opening bell on. Marquez owned his ass and KTFO of Pac. Outside the 1st round of the 1st fight and really the opening of the last fight Manny was worked over by Marquez in an overwhelming majority of rounds.. JMM should have got the nod in the 2nd and 3rd fights.

Ya I could tell how hard it was on him even though he was winning. That was also the last time I felt I saw a 'special' Pac.

Also... Margarito came in incredible shape for that fight. That Margarito would have beaten a lot of todays welterweights imo.

I think he meant hardest by physical punishment he took. Probably every shot even if few from margo hurt like hell while he was able to tolerate it against marquez plus that knockout was like mercy kill no pain just the aftermath

Margarito was a beast, and a full fledged Middleweight that night, not shocking. Sometimes, you win the battle but lose the war, this is one of those examples, another would be Matthysse matches against Provodnikov and Molina, who I guarantee did more damage to him even though he beat them both than Postol and Pacquaio did in stopping him.

How did he beat the prime out of Pac when he hardly landed a thing? That body shot he bothered Pac with was like one of the few punches that landed flush all night

Margarito is a hard hitter and a LOT bigger than pac. Sure he landed few but im pretty sure that if you're hit by a guy much bigger then you'll hurt badly too.

Pacquiao clearly won the 3rd fight. He easily outworked JMM

Margarito was probably the most physically taxing fight for Pacquiao.

Paquiao has Freddie Roach to thank for escaping Margarito, while the whole commission was preoccupied to make certain Margarito's wraps were legit, Freddie was loading Pacquiao's wraps.
Robert Garcia protested to no avail as Pacquiao's wraps were stacked. Roach himself called the way he wrapped Pacquiao's wraps as illegal and it was the reason why Pacquiao broke Margarito's orbital bone and essentially ended his career.

Margarito was in the best shape of his life. He was shredded. When Pac weighed in at 144, I knew that he was going to be in seriously brutal and grueling war.
