You misunderstood my post. I'm saying that if Pacquiao tried boxing with either Marquez or Mayweather, he'd not only get outboxed, he'd get dominated.
.......thats my answer to those that say Pacquiao's boxing skills have improved by leaps and bounds.
I say it has improved, but nowhere near enough to try to implement a boxing strategy to compete against the likes of Marquez and Mayweather.

.....any fight against Marquez or Mayweather and Pacquiao is relugated to playing the role of the bull, and Marquez and Mayweather play the role of the Matador.

You point to the Margarito fight to make a case for improved boxing skill by Pacquiao?:huh

Yes , its the most current example :huh Its more of a showcase tbh, pac was in and out, countering & just generally terrorising margarito.

So tell me, who boxes like pacquiao ? Pac dont box like jmm or pbf. He dont need to, pacs boxes his own style. And that is busy inteligent attack. You cant compare him to orthodox Boxers. Hes an awkward south paw as it is :good

So arguing a fact based on this opinion, your opinion that pac would box like how you described it in previous post?

So your answer is that pac hasnt improved based on the fights of marquez , and the vacationer.

Playing the bull? like what pac did to hatton, dela hoya, margarito.
Hes not one dimensional anymore dude :hi:

Btw I also brought up margarito for the right hands that he landed and stunned margarito with. Just sayng, Pac right hand stunning Margarito shows great improvement in power & technic. also see hattons 1st round

    Anyway, agree to disagree

In your opinion. That is not a fact. Many people feel the same way.

Paquiao I would not classify as a boxer, but more a whirlwind.
He's got some boxing skills sure, but his sucess is due more to his workrate and stamina.

Let me put it this way, I'm talking pure boxing skill here. What Pac has is quickness, speed, stamina, workrate.

This is how I define boxing skill.

Take Pacquiao, Mayweather and Marquez for example.

How do you think each fighter would do against eachother and the rest of the current boxing field if all three had equal quickness, speed, stamina, and power????

If the physical ability was equal, Pacquiao would be just another champion, because strictly on boxing ability he's not in the upper tier.

Mayweather and Marquez however would still be top flight fighters against the existing boxing field even if they were facing opponents that were their equal physically. Their boxing skill would carry them through, where that imo would not be the case with Pacquiao.

.......I'm rating boxing skill here, not overall physical ability.

Its a pity. There is decent debate here with Pacquiao fans willing to exchange thoughts, and then here comes a ******ed ******* attempting to troll and put a halt to real debate.:patsch

......and the *******s wonder why they're looked upon as not having a clue about boxing.
Its posters like toxo, that ruin it for real Pacquiao fans that would like to defend him with honest debate.

There ya go, arguing with you ifs again. Boxing dont work like that. Elite boxers usually are elites not because they box like Jmm & Fmj, Its because they play to their own strengths and box intelligently...

Pac suceeded because he has improved his boxing continously, or else people would have figured him out by now :smokel

On Jmm & fmj so far pac is: 1 win , one draw, the other he sent on vacation

My point is to you and the many Pacquiao fans who would like to believe Pacquiao has top flight boxing skills as this thread is taking to task Pacquiao's boxing improvement
    .
The point I'm making is that its his physical ability much more than his boxing ability that makes him the great fighter he is today.
Are you not in agreeance with that?

Now having said that, I agree, you dont have to be a great "boxer" to be a great fighter.

I for example rate Felix Trinidad as as great fighter......but if you'd ask me if id' classify Trinidad as a great boxer, the answer would be no.........the same I'd say about Manny Pacquiao.

Not sure how its called careful match making when he fought every big name at 147. The only guy left is berto and floyd. Floyd wont fight. and Everyboyd says Pac will kill berto. Seems like another hater trying to discredit a boxer.

As for improvements. He has better footwork. Offence is the same, he just can exploite it better cause the guys are much slower at that weight. His power has improve. Hand speed was slowed down a little. But he can take punches better, one reason are fighters at 147 punches a little slower. One thing pacquaio solve was his over extending when he throws a stright left. Usually thats then best time to strike him.

Dont agree, he has fought stronger fighters like margarito, cotto, clottey etc. So it wasnt just about the power and speed, It was pacs ring intelligence that made those fights look easy.

Its not all about hit without being hit, Its about working with the tools you got and having the boxing nouse to win your fights

If you dont agree that his overall boxing ability has improved then we agree to disagree :good

We've pretty much exhausted our arguments, so yeah I'll agree to disagree, but get back to me if ever Pacquiao fights Mayweather.
If that fight ever comes off, you're going to see my point about what facing a welterweight with true boxing skill is.

I think its safe to say that in comparison to Mayweather, the fighters Pacquiao has been facing are one dimensional fighters much easier for a fighter like Pacquiao with physical gifts to decipher.

For the first time in a long time Pacquiao will encounter a fighter thats on his quickness and speed level.
When put in this type of situation is when you find out what real skills Pacquiao really has.
.......It will be fun to find out!:good

I agree fmj is the acid test for pac now.. but he's now irrelevant to the equation , he didnt want to fight pac.

You could also say Fmj has not faced a fighter of Pacs calibre..

My boxer beats yours when they meet :good but thats just opinion till fmj gets pushed into the ring with p4p#1

Right now the closest thing to an acid test that has a very real chance of happening is a third fight with Marquez. It will be Marquez after Mosley. Arum has said it.

Haters better start thinking of ways to bash that fight right now to discredit yet another Pac win.
