^ He can counter but it's not really a counter. It's like a pre counter. Haven't you been reading the thread? Lmao
2nd gif - if that counter happened near the corner, hatton would go on head first again in the turnbuckle.
http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=358637&page=8 I first read about "pre-countering" in the above thread.
Uh, no, that is not a counter. A counterpunch, by definition, is when you throw after your opponent slightly drops his guard, or moves his head out of position, due to throwing his own punch or jab. You don't just "throw as well," you see the opening and attack it. Have you ever actually boxed? When you say "If a fighter who is still thinking of throwing a punch is pre-counterpunched,..." - I can't tell if you're being serious, or just mocking one of the other posters. The latter, hope.
if you cant tell the difference between a serious and a not serious, you really are thick. and if you keep asking people if they boxed before, you must be *****. only foomos have habit of doing it.
u must have missed his last fight seriously these guys are ****in inbred morons if they didnt catch that sarcasm. Get you heads out of your ass.
Silence, hater  Floyd would never do something as trivial as "throwing a punch". He might "lead with the right" or "time his opponent" or "adept to defensive flaws". Only a onedimensional brawler like Pac would "punch" his opponent in hope to land on him. Like Leon here on ESB said; Pac might seem like a boxer puncher because he is so fast, but in reality he is just a puncher. Leon gave some kind of reason to why Pac cant be seen as a swarmer either, but I cant recall how it went.
:deal and prior to being a star, his opponents used to prepare for only one of those attributes. Just ask Diaz
Pacquiao himself says he would never fight with a purely counter punching style because it would be boring. He said that regarding the Marquez third fight. He had to bring the action because Marquez settled on being the counter puncher. Styles 101: Two come forward aggressive fighters makes for an exciting unpredictable fight, all action. One come forward and one counter puncher makes for an ok fight depending on the action. The counter puncher will be super cautious and waiting for the other guy and the come forward guy will also be more cautious than normal, must use more feints. If they play their role the come forward guy will have to create the action. Two counter punchers will be super boring. Both fighters waiting for the other guy to throw the first punch. Minimal action, this will be a cure for insomnia.
He can counterpunch. Just about any of the top fighters can counter punch. He isn't very good at it compared to most top fighters though.
