Leonard definitely got, and still receives, criticism. Of course less than Pacquiao since it was over 20 years ago, but I think it was Gil Clancy who said in regards to the Lalonde fight that it was a "sham" and "shouldn't be sanctioned".

De La Hoya lost that fight to Hopkins, and people have terrible memories anyway. People still say the catch weight was 156, but it was 158. A lot of people don't even remember the catch weight, it was the ancient era of 2004.

Did Oscar De La Hoya or Ray Leonard ever win a championship with the weight limit for the fight set at less than the normal limit for that weight class?

YES, Leonard fought Donny for the LHW belt when both boxers fought under the weight limit, and it was two belts in two divisions.

Were these the contracted weights or just what both boxers weighed?
De La Hoya won the WBO Jr Lightweight championship beating Jimmi Bredahl for his first championship he weighed

    128¾ While Bredahl weighed 130.

I would like to see a reliable source that shows the contracted weights for that fight.
