The MGM WILL GET IT. They can guarantee 40 million for the fight and still make much much more. The money they'll make from CCTV, High roller gamblers, hotel accomodations, Food and other ammenities will be ridicolous

    NOLA Won't Get Pacquiao-Mayweather Fight

NEW ORLEANS -- According to a report by the Times-Picayune, a boxing match between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will not be held at the Superdome.
Political pundit James Carville was heading up the effort to bring the fight to New Orleans, but that was derailed by a scheduling conflict, a report by the Times-Picayune said.
Jim Hoskins, the senior vice president and general manager of Harrahs New Orleans, said that the fight could have had the same economic impact on the city that the NBA All-Star Weekend had in 2008 -- $100 million.
The last time a major boxing match was fought in the Superdome was Nov. 25, 1980. Sugar Ray Leonard beat Roberto Duran for the welterweight title in the famous "No Mas" match.
The Pacquiao-Mayweather fight is scheduled to take place March 13 or May 1 in either Dallas or Las Vegas. The official announcement will be made Jan. 11 in New York City.

Koncz claims Pac rejected L.A before even being told about the taxes. Apparently, Pac wants to fight in Vegas.

You're just not used to traffic and the weather there. Yes there's a lot of places that's dirty but what can you expect from a big city? I've been to new york and other big cities here in texas and there are parts where it's really bad. Now does that make it a shithole city? hell no just like that ****** trying to make it sound like manila is a **** hole.

And you assumed pac doesn't know it since Koncz haven't told it?

Do you think flyd would even accept fighting in LA where he has to pay 11% additional taxes?

Pacquiao does not live in the U.S. State income taxes are not universal. They vary from State to Stae. I doubt Pac knows the State income tax percentege in California.

Pac has fought in Cali before. But mainly Vegas. BEsides, with all the talk this fight could generate, I'm sure the tax situation was brought up.

I'm going by what his own advisor said. He claims Pac rejected L.A before even being told about the taxes. Who cares if Pac fought in Cali before? He hasn't fought there in 4 years. I doubt he remembers how much taxes he paid. His last 6 fights have been in Vegas, it seems he's pretty comfortable fighting there. Besides, if it was just about the money, wouldn't Pac first ask how much more L.A was offering before he rejected it? What if L.A was offering 10% more than Vegas? That would make the offer from L.A more lucrative even with taxes included.

Huh? Let me educate you regarding taxes on your country. Non-resident aliens is subject to 30% taxes (on boxing purses and revenues) fighting anywhere in USA. That's the national tax. Only those non-resident alien boxers fighting for charitable purposes are exempted on that.

Regarding local taxes, each state/county has different taxation and rates. This local taxes were being paid on top of the previously mentioned national tax. Las Vegas NV has no personal and corporate taxes while LA county charges 11% applicable local taxes.

So by fighting in LA Pac will to pay 3-5M local tax on top of the 8-13M national tax. wherein by fighting in Las Vegas pac will have to shell out only 8-13M national tax and no local tax.

His advisor is only going by what he thinks he knows. And you ask, "who Cares if Pac fought in Cali before?" Well, if Pac has fought there, then perhaps he already knew about the taxes? Are you going to suggest that doesn't make sense Reg? Don't be so anal on what one guy says another knows.
