He probably meant Rios is the toughest fighter he's faced. As in his ability to take punishment.

No, he said it was the toughest fighter. As in, physical toughness. Your downsydrome playing up a bit tonight mate?

I believe it. I don't think he wants to fight anymore. These big guys that can take the type of punishment Rios can, will wear a guy down, especially and offensive guy like Pacquaio.

I bet Martinez honestly thought Chavez Jr was one of his hardest fights, but to casual observers, it only looked like he had success in one round.

Sometimes guys have success, just by staying in there, absorbing punishment, and occasionaly landing heavy blows.

That takes a lot out of a fighter. Imagine having to be active for 12 rounds, and throwing punches. It's one thing if you got the ref in your corner, that will break up a clinch and never allow another guy to get his gameplan started, but when you have to actually fight...that's a hard ass fight.

The problem with you is, you've never been in a real fight in your life. You're a *****.

If you met a dude like Rios on the street, he would gang **** you.

It's sad that a man can comment on a fight without ever being in one his entire life.

And go ahead and comment on how hard you are. Sure, you may have jumped someone or beat up someone defenseless, but you ain't a real dude.

Stop tryin to act like one.

No he didn't. Merchant asked him about Rios ability to take Manny's punches and whether those same punches would have knocked out past opponents and Manny said that Rios was one of his toughest opponents (in terms of punch resistance).

And he meant "toughest" in the sense that he was physically resilient i.e. had a strong chin.
