but if Pac picks up Diaz's belt first, and then faces Casa, it will be a unification fight... he'd make multi-millions either way hahah

Same risk????? You don't think he'd have more trouble with Casa than with D.Diaz?
Come on man, even at 36 Casa's way out of Diaz' league IMO.

i don't think so. casamayor had a good win against katsidis. but its not like he dominated him. katsidis has taken over the fight after the first few rounds. if not for katsidis lack of defense, he could have won a decision. now diaz is the younger fighter and had more energy to last for 12 full rounds. now we don't know what pac will show up at 135. will he bring his power and speed to that weight? so if we are not sure, he would be risking going up against diaz. why not go straight to casa who imo is almost the same risk (at this time) with bigger rewards?

yup. casamayor did show some of his old brilliance boxing katsidis during the early rounds and when he got that 2nd wind after the kd. but i feel that pac would outwork casa at this stage of his career much like what katsidis did to him minus the knockdowns.

with diaz fight, david would be game for the whole 12 rounds. imo, diaz beat morales just because morales gassed-out during the final rounds.

style won't matter much if he can't do it or last for the whole fight. the thing that would likely more trouble pac is casa's experience (headbutt's, clinching, shoving) and it can put pac out of his game.

Good move for pacman....sure Pac's has more than a decent chance at dethroning Casa but Diaz is light years away in ring savvy and intellegence so go with the easier of the two. On a side not a prime Casa schools the legendary Pac-man. I'm a huge pac fan I actually think the man deserves to be mentioned as p4p number one but Prime Casa was one of the greatest operators I've seen in the ring.

This is the easiest way for Pac to pick up a belt at lightweight, I think he loses to the rest. Clever cherrypicking

Diaz doesn't really use his height and reach advantage. He gets in close and throws the kitchen sink. There is no real method to his work, it's a bit of hit and hope. Not much power to worry Pac either. His defence is pretty poor, he was getting tagged by that C- level guy

Against the speed and explosive Pacquiao he's a KO waiting to happen

I believe both diaz and casa more than good boxers (but not really GREAT)
Both fight will be tough but fighting DIAZ will be tougher than fighting CASA.
For me, currently David Diaz > CASA but if you talk about prime per prime. CASA > David Diaz!

Pac needs to stay where he is at, moving up is not going to do him any good. He will not have the power that he has now and he is giong to get hit harder. I mean Marquez buzzed him a couple of times in the last fight, people like Campbell and Casa will knock him out.

Diaz is crap that's why they are picking him and Arum made Diaz not fight for his title last time out. They know its only a matter of time until he loses that belt and they want Pac to do it.
Someone mentioned Santa Cruz on here. That is a very legitimate Threat at lightweight and i doubt they would want Pac facing him. I actually would take Santa Cruz in a rematch with Diaz. He was schooling Diaz until he got caught with a very good uppercut.

I think they honeslty feel DD will enable PAC to get in 12 rounds, look sensational and give the fans some good action.....with out much risk of loosing.

David is soild...he's a decent champion but PAC is far superior overall and I think they feel this is a good opening to get their feet wet at 135 and take home a title.

Casa would KO Manny? If you are going off that KO last week, that was a perfect punch at the perfect time since his opponent RAN right in to it chin first. Cambell has that kind of KO power but Manny should be albe to carry that power up with him. They said he'd have no power at 130 too as well as 126 so this comment has been tossed around before. I don't see anyone at 135 right now that has a chance at beating PAC. Maybe if JMM steps up..but Manny still has the edge there as well.
