When it comes to Floyd most here have developed selective memories. What we see in Floyd today is an evolution from his early beginnings and difficulties with injuries. In his early fights he was an aggressive boxer puncher with speed of foot and hands while exhibiting a slick defense style when it suited the situation. Do not forget his fight with Chico Corales and others where he showed the Mayweather killer instinct for the K.O. It was his desire to be the best and prolong his career as a result of hand injuries that he modified his aggressive style and became what we see today. Don't hate just appreciate! Floyd's a very bad man if he wanted to be but his career would have been shortened considerably!!!! Be glad he did. I think he and his team made a smart decision
Becareful of Nostalgia, There are plenty of past fighters that would get beat fighting today. Ali beats Joe Louis and Rocky Marciano. Sugar Ray Leonard matches up well with Sugar Ray Robinson. Roy Jones destroys Billy Conn. Is Ezzard Charles better than Holyfield? Doubt it. Hopkins beats LaMotta, infact Today 's Hopkins could decision Lamotta. Past fighters fought often because they needed the money. More fights does not mean that fighter tops today's fighter. It means they're carreer is probably shorter but not that they win. In fact name someone SRR beat at Welter that Floyd could not.
Nah, they don't have selective memories. They don't have ANY memories. Most of his haters never saw any of his early fights. They think his career started at the Baldomir fight or when he 'ducked' Margarito.
Steward said all kinds of weird crazy shi,t. He actually said Octavio Lara was the best fighter he ever trainer
