Sorry, that isn't how I meant my post to come across. But I think its very unfair to Steward to say HE ****ed Taylor. I don't know how he was in the gym, but he always gave Taylor the correct advice between rounds. For the first Pavlik fight he even took him to his training facility North Carolina.

His fighters seem very similar. A lot of physical skill, no stamina, and no chin.

i can't think of too many trainers better than steward. if u can...please name them. he has created his share of champions from scratch while most of his recent champions have been inherited for one reason or another. for the most part...he improves fighters.

If you call jabbin and grabbin improvement then you really gotta give it up to John Ruiz. That's the man Steward seems to be stealing from these days.

  8. No stamina or chin??? i guess that applies to Holyfield and JCC CHAVEZ, both who were Steward fighters???:nut
Holy-Chavez could fight for day's without getting tired, and both had chins of steel, not to mention Hilmer Kenty, and Lennox Lewis..

I'm talking his A typical fighters. If you look at Wlad, Lewis, Taylor, and Hearns you will see that all of them were extremly gifted with a great jab but lacked stamina and a great chin :deal

Yeah Cintron looked great struggling with David Estrada, Mark Suarez, and Jesse "i got knocked out 4 times at 140" Feliciano. Cintron has definitely regressed under Manny.

u can't deny that steward is one of the better trainers in the business today. there is a reason fighters want to train with him. unfortunately, he is a very busy guy and he isn't capable of giving all of his fighters equal attention. klit has definitely improved under manny....so has cintron. the proof is in the pudding. he gave mccall the strategy to ko lennox....he then took on lennox and turned him around. u see guys get ktfo'd in the fashion that lennox or klit have....and they don't come back from that. manny brings them back to life. i say this...and i am not a big fan of lennox, cintron or klit...but i recognize what the man brings to the table. he's head and shoulders above most trainers. name me one trainer that is better than him.

i totally agree with you on the steward thing...but enzo has come form a non boxing backgroudn taken the basics and flipped them.

he has made great fighters out of unformed fighters.

he made rees a high working boxer form the former slugging left-right repeat format.
has made enzo maccaerinelli the man he is. a huge puncher with a great combo punching capability.
joe calzaghe has become a british icon due to both joes and enzo's studing of tapes and great fighters.
he got gary lockett who is a non- tlaneted fighter in to a#1 contention.

maybe these guys arent the greatest ever. but enzo has made the men the men they are. a inside boxer which is rare and hard to counter against.

i heard in his whole stabel he has had in total only 3 losses as trainer. he has beaten buddy's rtecord and steward already

I don't think it's really fair to other trainers when you say that Steward has a busy schedule so some of his relationships don't work out. We gave Buddy McGirt alot of **** for the way he trained some of his guys and I think it's really only fair that Steward gets his fair share too.

I wouldn't put anyone over him but guys who don't get as much recognition like Enzo Calzaghe, Jack Loew, Billy Graham, Bouie Fischer and others I'd put on that same level. If not a bit higher.

    His recent work is overrated

Someone was talking about buddy mcgirt and how his fighters always loose, but also he has **** fighters to start out with

Steward takes only the top fighters, wlad, lewis, hamed, taylor after they are already good

and as soon as he lost, steward dropped taylor. So now when taylor starts to loose it doesnt make steward look bad.

All he does is wait for them to get to the top then comes along and trains them when theyre already there and acts like it was all his work.
