I can imagine the guy doing really well in the amateurs, did he achieve anything big?

From the brother who compared Haye and Cotto favourably to SRL in the combination punching department and thought Nate Campbell was more technically skilled than Juan Manuel Marquez?

Damm he looks good boxing, IMO if you were to picture what a perfect boxer looks like, its that. Minus the overreacting with the rolling with punches, relying too much on reflexes for defense.

Good post. Adam Morrison was the greatest basketball player I've ever seen. My god could he shoot. His shooting form was great, and he could score from just about anywhere on the court. Unfortunately, he couldn't rebound, defend, pass, or create his own shot. From technical point of view though, he may be the best ever.

****ing Steward. Got me so hyped up for this guy. Probably more than any prospect besides Bojado and he ends up getting stopped by panda express workers and cab drivers. FML

the thing about linares is that he has amazing movement and is definitely a very aesthetically pleasing boxer. he knows all the moves...has excellent speed...shot selection...etc. the problem is...he made the wrong choice in trainers. he was an afterthought at the wildcard. he'd be the number one guy in any other gym. freddie used him as a sparring/training partner for pacquiao. he had him training with amateurs at the olympic camp...then took him to the philippines and had him sparring a midget aggressive southpaw in preparation for demarco. so many things were wrong with that camp and the treatment he got that we didn't get the best linares in that fight. he is a guy who can still be something...but the problem is that the ppl he's working with don't understand how easily his situation can be fixed.

i find it all very funny really. with pac...they knew his limitations and matched him accordingly/appropriately which is why we never saw him in the ring with zahir raheem or joan guzman. but this guy who could be something very special has basically been thrown to the wolves and not developed properly. in some ways...it's very similar to khan's situation. they know his limitations....they match him inappropriately, instead of developing him further.

linares has amazing skills and can be something special. he just needs some rebuilding with the right coach and right team to match him properly on his comeback.
