When you're considered head and shoulders above everybody else in your profession and in reality you're just as good but not better then you're overrated.. manageers and promoters send them their boxers like they're gonna work magic and that's not true.. they're goint to teach them what they know and do it their way but their way is not the only way and it doesnt work for everybody.. so to me yes they're overrated... all steward did for cotto was make him feel he was getting better and if in cottos mind having steward makes him better than that's good because cotto will fight better but in reality cotto was the same :hat
Steward has trained an elite fighter from scratch and trained many established boxers to a higher level. He is a phenomenal trainer and should be respected as such.
In general, Cotto's inside work should be more head movements and working his way on the inside, but with Foreman, he was lacking one important element of outside fighting advantage, and that's reach. He could fight tall to an extent and stay mobile, but he could never "pepper cotto with shots" as was predicted because it was in fact Cotto, the shorter man, who had the advantage in reach by an inch. Cotto's upperbody and head movement to me looked good, he was showing some evasive slipping and moving around the 5th, but nothing more than necessary. He was using his jab, set up good combinations, and cut off the ring. I don't think Steward changed Cotto all that much, just made him fight smarter. This was also his division debut, so his inside aggression and head movement may show itself more later on with less caution.
Yea! Cotto with a more frequent right hand would be a more complete fighter with a much greater percentage of opportunities to land and set up combos. I remember hearing it was an accident that changed his use of it, but I think now it is a matter of habit. I think he'll be using it more, at least I hope so.
i guess you're right.. well if you dont understand is all in your head.. you just dont get it and never will :hat
i can get it if you make any sense you're a stubborn idiot, you're one of those people i can provide hard solid evidence to back up my case and you would still argue like a *****.
Ok tell me how many times have you been through camp with a professional boxer, how many pro fights and amateur fights have you had.. i grew up with the sport i know what im talking about.. im not saying because i boxed and trained other boxers that i have all the answers but i know a little of what im talking about.. you in the on the other hand are not giving any proof.. just opinons and uneducated ones :hat
what does any of this have to do with what i said or what we're discussing? you're also not giving any proof just your opinion, which really means as much as toilet paper to me.
"is losing"? Was pretty much lost already, wasn't it? I don't remember him really employing it effectively against Mosley, Manny, Margo, Clottey...Anyway, I don't know that it is lost or not coming back based on this one fight. What I do know is it's probably hard to nail the body of a mover like Foreman and Cotto ended the fight with a body shot...Although Foreman was a one-legged mover at the time. This fight, again, may not be a great indicator of the work Steward may end up ultimately doing.
Watch Haye's head move out of the ring when Vitali or Vlad knocks him out! Oh.........Haye will not fight them...........though........
he says i dont provide any evidence but all he does is pull rank and talk about his so called amateur career how does he know what i have done? just because i dont pull rank doesn't mean i haven't go experience.
