those are the ones he works best with. He has trouble figuring out that: 1. not all fighters can stand straight, jab and hold their way to vitories 2. maybe, just maybe, when a fighter loses, he has a part in that as well
I wouldnt call Taylor or Holyfield, weak chinned power punchers, but guys like Moorer, Lewis, Hearns, and Wlad are, I would say he has a good eye for talent, if he sees something in you thats special, he will help you mask your weakness. He also worked with Mccall for a short period of time, he told Mccall what to shoot for in the first match against Lewis, and it worked.
Maybe these fighters realise their weaknesses and seek out Steward because he can compensate for these weaknesses. Its been working well lately...... Think of all the "super trainers" who have popped up over the last few years McGirt, Goosen, Birmingham, Weldon, etc etc etc All built stables that went down just as fast as they came up.... Very inconsistent... Steward's fighters have remained pretty conistent..... Only other trainer with a good sized group of fighters who has remained pretty consistent has been Roach.
