And those fights every two months were against better opponents than Chisora and Haye.

Chris Eubank rematched, Michael Watson and Carl Thompson in excalty 3 months. And those fights where wars, Chris Eubank was in hospital after both of these fights.

Waldimir Kiltschko has 2 months, and his fight against Derek Chisora will be easy, it won't be a war. Weather he sparks him early, or inflicts a sustained beat down on Derek Chisora.

Its good preperation, and by the time July 2nd comes around. He will be in supream shape, both mentally and physically.

So like i said befoe, if you want to be a ****** about this....go ahead.

I said i was ****ing off out of this topic, but i change my mind.........Im Back!

I personally feel like fighters, be they champions or just contenders, should fight every 3 months.

Fine PK, I'm not disagreeing with you. It was that dumb Tyson comparison you repeatedly trot out that I had the issue with not the fact that a champ should be able to defend every 2 months. Like I say, Joe Louis is the example you were looking for...

The thing is though, can anyone see Sky, HBO or any other company who would invest in this fight, doing so knowing that Chisora could land a lucky shot? Sure, it's a 99% chance that he'll get knocked out, yes, but companies don't invest millions unless they know they'll get a return. All it has to take is one shot and they lose massive amounts of money, so it's understandable why fighting within such a short space of time, is a huge risk. Even if Haye would fight him then, would he be backed by Sky? I doubt it. Maybe that was the reason he pulled out, I'm not sure. I'm sure GBP or HBO themselves would have had a few opinons on the matter too.

If Wlad somehow lost to Chisora, not only would a Haye fight be far less marketable, it wouldn't happen 8 weeks later because of the immediate rematch clause in the deal Chisora signed. You'd be looking at at least another 15 weeks before a rematch and then Wlad and Haye would only be able to negotiate after the fight too. If Wlad lost a rematch, a Wlad fight would be pointless and, if he won, only then could a Haye fight be discussed, at which point he'd already be stripped of his title, fighting someone else or even retired.

People just assume Wlad will beat Chisora and, like I said, there's a 99% chance he will, but that 1% risk is big enough to prevent companies like Sky and HBO throwing money into the hype of a Haye fight.

People criticize Haye for pulling out, but maybe he knew that Sky, HBO or any companies which may invest in advertisement etc., told him to do so.

The fight will be a sell out in Germany regardless. SKY could hold off pimping the PPV till after the Chisora fight and still have time to spare. Also HBO or Showtime won't invest much on a time delay fight. They'll show it but its not a big deal.

Either way, you are doing a lot of presuming on Hayes behalf. You could make a case that companies might be more put off by Hayes previous dealings with the Klitchkos and the Harrison fiasco.

I don't think it's a lot of presuming at all. It basically comes down to one question: Will Sky HBO and other companies want to fully commit to a fight which may not happen? I think the answer is an obvious "no".

Besides that, if Wlad did lose, he'd have no titles and he'd be less of an attraction. Why would Haye accept 50/50 in that case?

The only big problem with my post, is the idea that Chisora may win. I don't think he will, but it has to be considered.

the fight would sell big,but not as big if they had a decent media tour,i cant see klitshko wanting to lose out on money either.

and realistically,he cannot be so arrogant or stupid to fight so soon after chisora, and expect haye to a)not fight at all and be confident wlad fights 8 weeks after his last fight or b) haye to fight may/june and fight july 2nd,with even less time than wlad to have training and sparring.

you have to leave time for rest and recovery.

you need to give lee way to possible injuries, cuts, any other "tears" wlad might have.

and by him choosing to block up september and agust with training hes almost said in his "smart" way that hes ducking Haye.

And whats really stupid is,what if he did fight chisora in december, this whole tune up fight and fighing a fight before haye would not have been a problem!.

also if he had fought un england, the dates would be may/june aswell, but he backed down on what he previously said about being willing to fight out of germany.

but now he does want to fight in poland v adamek, but in uk v haye???.

he wants a fight with adamek, who ,looking at his heavy resume,is not impressive, watching him at heavyweight,he doesnt have KO power when facing a decent heavyweight, and can not take proper shots from heavyweights, hence his hit and move style, which he still got caught by from arreola!.

if chisora wins, there is no haye fight for wlad, wlad makes chisora rematch him straight away, and if chisora beats him twice in a row,he faces vitali straight away.

Haye only real option is to go for vitali, and i think he will realise that soon, and pursue it after his mandatory,it could be made for august/september or before october 31st.

Wlad knows he has a weak chin,he has seen hayes speed and power,do you honestly think he wants to fight Haye, after he saw Haye rock valuev, and outbox him with a broken hand?.

Vitali likes to fight more, has a tough chin too.

but he is older, slower, less technical, and his body brakes down, causing him to give up or be stopped.

Haye would outbox vitali with ease, and i believe he would hurt vitali,if he can rock valuev,he can rock and stop vitali.

    Exactly.
People have forgotten what "tune-up" even means. The idea that Wlad would have to reach some amazing peak for Chisora, then rest for weeks before starting again is wrong.

Hey, even when Ali and Holmes were 33/34 they were fighting often, and they weren't nearly as well-preserved as Wlad.

Chisora is a sparring session at best.

Actually, the Tyson example is a good one.
He was fighting regularly up until he went into tail-spin and his life became a train wreck. When he was with Kevin Rooney and his original management he was doing well, and fighting often, even with the HBO putting some sort of limits on how often he fought.

Look, in 1987, he fought on March 7, May 30, August 2, and October 16.
One of those gaps is exactly the same as Wlad's proposal, and the others are only slightly longer.
Also, Pinklon Thomas followed by Tony Tucker is a damn sight more challenging than Derek Chisora !

In 1988, Tyson fought on January 22, March 21, June 30.
And was then scheduled to fight on September 3, against Bruno. At that schedule he probably fights 5 times in 1988, instead of 3.
But after he beat Spinks his life went crazy, as is well-documented.
And that was the beginning of the end.
He was better off fighting every 2 or 3 months, at most.

Sure, Wlad is older, but he's fit. And again, Chisora is a nothing opponent.

they've been saying since the beginning that wlad doesn't want to call off the fight but he wants to stay busy and not go 10 months without a fight. i think 10 months would be the longest layoff wlad has taken in a very long time.

9 weeks is usually tight but then it might not be. wlad never takes punishment and a fight with chisora would make the showdown even bigger. plus wlad would be in shape so he could take a week off and get right back into it.

Not one single person from a broadcaster has came forward and said they have an issue with Wlad fighting Chisora before Haye. Of course they are not going to fully commit until after the Chisora fight but the only people complaining about it is Hayemaker.

As for not having enough time to build the fight, look at the last fights of the Klitchkos.
Vitali v Briggs was announced 8 weeks in advance.
Wlad v Peters was announced 7 weeks in advance.
Vitali v Arreola was announced 7 weeks in advance.

And Haye v Harrison was announced 9 weeks in advance so there is plenty of time to promote it.

Of course no broadcaster will announce that they have an issue. Sky and HBO won't come forward and release a statement saying "If you do that, no deal". I just think it's logical to assume they would have an issue though.

And none of those fights were close to being as big as Haye/Wlad. If those four, of which only one was shown in two countries live, needed at least 7 weeks promotion, surely a bigger fight, shown on more networks, would need more than that to promote it?

For Vitali/Arreola, only America and Germany was needed. All Klitschko's fight sell anyway and Arreola is a draw. It hardly needed or deserved big promotion. It sold itself, basically. Vitali/Briggs was only shown in Germany, where, again it sells itself. As was Wlad/Peter, especially after their first fight. Haye/Harrison was a UK event only, so it required far less promotion.

As for Haye/Wlad, they would need to promote it in Germany, Britain and then America. In America, the promotion would be longer than usual because HBO have dropped the heavyweights.
