Tyson was busy unifying the titles but what the **** ever.

Mercer played gatekeeper for a Holyfield that was coming out of retirement. He spent most of 95 and 96 inactive with injuries. After the Lewis and Spoon fights (again playing gate keeper for these guys trying to rebuild themselves), he was sidelined again with an injured neck.

Claims that Mike ducked Mercer are absurd, Mercer wasn't even on the radar or near the rankings. Tyson took a couple tune ups after years away from the sport, than immediately demolished the beltholders to take the #1 HW spot.

When did i say that ?

    Lewis took Mercer's , Vitali's, Brigg's punches pretty well.
We saw how Tyson took Holy's blows, and Holy doesn't hit nearly as hard as Lewis.

Mercer fought once in 1995, and twice in 1996, so i don't know how you claim that injured.

After the tussle he gave Lewis, i would say he was pretty much in the radar.

What the **** was Tyson was supposed to do after spending 5 years in prison? jump straight in with Ray Mercer? And what exactly is Mercer known for? losing to Holmes, Ferguson, Holyfield, Lewis and beating glass jawed Tommy Morrison?

Were you there to massage Tysons ribs? You think hes going to be perfectly fine after 2 brutal wars against Razor Ruddock

    Tyson fought Holyfield because
    a) the public was not happy with the Bruce Seldon farce
    b) Tyson-Holyfield was the biggest fightout there
    c) Tyson/Holyfield had unfinished business

Tysons eye was cut both in the first fight and second fight, so i hardly think that was an excuse. He didnt find a quick way out, he has stated himself numerous times that he felt Holyfield was butting him and he reacted.

Tyson never bit Lewis on the thigh that was all bull**** to creat more controversy. He fought Lewis in the end didnt he?

Since when was Ray Mercer even relevant?
What did Ray Mercer even do? he won the WBO belt? a belt Tyson wouldnt even wipe his arse with. Tyson BEAT guys who beat Mercer.

Your accusing Tyson of ducking Holyfield and Lewis (guys he fought) and Ray Mercer (a guy who never amounted to ****)

Holyfield took 2 rounds longer to KO a much better version of Tyson than Lewis. So your point is null. Holyfield also dropped Mercer, something Lewis couldnt do.

And Lewis beat every man he ever faced, something Tyson can't say.
The history book will retain Lewis in a much higher position than Tyson.

We can hypothetise about a matchup of both, i have my opinion, you have yours ( being an obvious devoted fan of Tyson, i feel you give him too much credit) and that's that.

Tyson can also proudly say that he was never removed from his senses by a single punch (twice)

And who was Lennox oh so desperate to beat, to cement his legacy?

Your basically full of **** and youve got no other argument and your sole purpose on this thread was to mock Tyson and accuse him of ducking guys like Ray Mercer and now youve been shown up

I love how the older Lewis clinched to an old corpse of (the actually younger) Tyson. How come Tyson couldn't maintain his alleged "prime" past the age of 22?

Poor old Tyson getting beaten up by the older man.

Tyson didn't fight Holyfield until it looked like Evander was a shell of his former self (there were concerns about Evander's health if he fought Tyson). That shell convincingly beat up Iron Mike.

The best one is that Mike was "washed up" when he fought Buster Douglass. Yeah, at the age of 23.

Do you think the 23 year old Tyson that lost to Douglass would have beaten Lewis? Barring a lucky punch Lewis was always vulnerable to, I think Lewis wins that fight most of the time.

No need to mock Tyson, his actions speak for themselves.
And i do consider him a bully, a coward too.

and why would you pick Tyson at his worst against Lewis?

Lewis' prime currently resides somewhere between being Kod by Mcall and being Kod by Rahman

Because your a spastic who doesnt know anything about boxing and the fact that Tyson was 36-0 and the undefeated undisputed champion whod already secured his legacy as one of the ATGs and not to mention that he had quite a bit of money in the bank. Where was Lennox lewis at the age of 22?

Funny, isnt that what Holyfield made a career out of? Beating old men like Forrman and Holmes, a guy whose been in prison for 5 years and then what happens when he fights fighters in their primes? Bowe...Moorer...Lewis. And Lewis, whats his bets wins....a shot Tyson and an old Holyfield?

Holyfield looked bad against Bowe, Moorer and Cyz, funny how the only guy he looked great against was a guy coming off a 5 year prison sentence.

Who says you cant be out of your prime at the age of 23?

And you're just another Tyson gangsta wannabe idiot.

Go read Tyson's biography "Fire and fear" by Mike's friend and former world champ Jose Torres.

Tyson was forcing himself on unwilling women well before he became famous, and had his manager Cayton arrange payoffs for agressions after agressions to keep Mike out of jail.

Atlas finally decided to instill respect in the bully and put a gun to his head when he tried to molest a girl in his family. One of the best thing he ever did ( altough he got fired for it).

They actually paid Lennox 4 million dollars to back of, so Tyson could take Seldon. THen Tyson got creamed by Holyfield. But of course to these morons, Lewis always ducked Tyson.
