no 43 year old man belongs in the ring unless their announcing the fight, a trainer, or putting together / taking a part the ring

Oh, no doubt about it. There clearly is unfinished business. Personally I am a fan of both and when Lewis was young I was sure he could beat anyone out there. At the time, I remember the real threat was Razor Rudduck, but I was sure LL would win. However, when Vitaly came onto the scene I saw the only fighter that was equal to LL. I wouldn;t say better or worse, but equal to. These two are imo. similar level and only a hair-fine difference which one day may favor one and the next day favor the other.

However, for real passion about a rematch to start we would need to hear from LL - because without him its all just nothing. But IF he says "maybe", then the discussions will go beserk around the globe.

    What's up, man? :good

I understand how you feel about the Klit threads and all. Some days you just have to keep moving, take care of other business and let time take care of the rest.

The Klits are the best of the HW's right now, but they won't be around forever. Before too long, we'll be here reminiscing about the old "Klitschko Wars" from the good old days. :thumbsup

    Take it easy, bro.

Wow, Manny calling it unfinished business, pretty much translates to calling Lennox a coward!

It sure as hell won't go beyond $50 million, you would mention that offer to others and they will go crazy about it. If Lewis isn't showing any interest to that then he's officially done. This also shows you how much Lewis cares about his legacy and name in boxing. Some others wouldn't give a damn and will sign for it immediately even if they know they will lose.

Don't think so, Manny said the exact same thing at the time when Lewis kept Vitali waiting for news about the rematch, he said that there's unfinished business there but if Lewis decides to retire then he can understand it. Manny is making it clear that he will be the trainer of Vitali since Vitali already said he will never change Fritz Sdunek.

Doesn't matter what Steward says, the 'final chapter' in boxing is always the one you write yourself.

Say best case scenario here for Lewis, he comes back and beats Vitali.
Okay, what then? Just retire? I don't think so.

Wladimir will be urgently calling him out for a fight, with likely even more money on the table. The Klitschkos are a tag team, you beat one and you have to fight the other. HBO would also put heavy pressure on for this to happen.

So now it's two fights. Let's say Lewis yet again has a good day and overcomes Wladimir now. What about the WBA? Hey, says Valuev, let's have a battle of the giants. Another big money offer, a fight sold on big spectacle, chance to be undisputed again, come on Lennox, sign the contract! Or if Holyfield upsets Valuev, he's going to be loudly calling out Lewis for a third bout.

Riddick Bowe's ears ***** up. He's old and fat but if he can just needle Lewis enough then maybe he can get a big payday and a chance at putting Lewis down. John Ruiz writes a selection of insulting letters promising doom. Lamon Brewster, on friendly terms with Lewis for years, hopes to jolly Lewis into giving him a shot. James Toney talks phenomenal amounts of smack to try to get one as well. I want a rubber match says Hasim Rahman. Me too, says Oliver McCall. I'll just be happy with a rematch says David Tua. And hey, says Kirk Johnson, I never did get that fight with you!

Point I'm getting at is that boxing is perfectly happy to ride the horse into the ground and then shoot it. If you can get off the ride before that point, with your brains and you bank balance intact, then you do that.

Extra chapters are easy to write but they may not be happy ones.

There is unfinished business. All the non Lewis nuthuggers think, there should have been definitely a rematch, because Lewis didnt won on skills but on pure luck and the ring doctor, while clearly behind on points. Thats a **** win.
Vitali retired Lewis, who wanted to fight three more times before that fight (Vitali, Tyson II, Wlad). But Lewis knew, that he wont get any better result vs. an hungry, deadly effective and smart challenger like Vitali, than this TKO6 on cut stoppage. Thats reality. Lewis has to live with it, that everybody knows, that he didnt beat Klitschko. He only got a "W" on a sheet of paper, but in the ring he couldnt show, that he is superior to Vitali. No matter what some die hard fans say. And funny is, that a lot of people wanna make the excuse, LL was shot, not trained, old and blahblah. Fact is LL was still in his prime the fight before vs. Tyson.

But frankly I dont wanna see VK-LL 2. It would be a missmatch in 2009, as well like it would have been in 2004/2005. Lennox retirement is the best evidence for that....

As a vitali fan i say it like this,,,,,,,,,2003-2005 vitali would of fought a good lewis, 2006 he would fought maybe a OK lewis, but now it is to late,,,let it go, be happy you retired him, the only thing you will have in front of your self is a old man,,,let it go, an don't forget he passed up 25 million to duck you, an if you give him that money now for that victory, no one going to fault him for losing,,,,just let him be 25 million poorer that the best revenge for him ducking you

That's enough foolish KLIT-ite :bart responses.

Watch the last round of the fight only...forget about how good ViTKLiT looked in the early rounds, he was going to get destroyed...lose his vision and never box again.

The Dr. saved ViTKLiT, not Lewis.

No rematch needed when officials and medical authorities have to save you from your opponent. Lewis had taken over the fight, and ViTKLiT wasn't getting it back.

The only thing he would have got back if it continued, was his eye in a box.

Manny just wants some more $$$ - Wlad has probably asked him to stoke up the fire.

What they clearly don't realise is that Lennox will want to use Manny - but how will that affect the relationship between Steward and Wlad?

There isn't any unfinished business - Lennox won, fair and square. It was a shame the fight ended like it did, but it's a shame England are **** at cricket as well, plus plenty of other things.

Losing the way he did was probably the best thing for Vitali, because it would give him something to cling to. Had the fight gone on, he was getting knocked out - and would have joined the likes of Bruno and Tyson in the list of conclusive Lewis victories.

He certainly wasn't winning the fight, though up on the cards.

Now, if Vitali was undisputed champion...I wonder if that might be just too tempting to pass up on.

Moot point since the brothers will never fight, though.
