What does everyone think about Manny Steward's current stable of fighters? I have made a few general observations, but the main one is the following: Manny's fighters are NOT conditioned properly. I don't know if he has too many responsibilities and doesn't have time for monitoring drills, roadwork, etc. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Taylor's conditioning was poor in the first Taylor fight, Cintron lost the steam to get Margarito off of him, Klitschko saves energy by doing nothing but jabbing, and Andy Lee was gassed by the fifth round in his last fight (the guy who was one fight from beating Pavlik, according to Steward). Not trying to take anything away from Steward or the Kronk legacy, I just think he took the condition and stamina of his fighters for granted, and can't afford to do so anymore. Thoughts?
The current crop aren't as talented as the previous ones. For instance, peak Lewis would put Wlad Klitschko in a coma, Taylor was a walking W for someone, and had been for some time, whilst Cintron would never beat Tony Margarito in a month of Sundays.
Manny should retire. While he is one of my favorite trainers, his fighters have been subpar lately. Anyone know the record of fighters in the last three years? I would love to know because I would bet it is under .500.
I have read a couple of articles where people think he spends most of his time with Klitschko and neglects some of his other fighters. Don't know if it is true or not.
