    Pac has been consistently a great fighter for the past decade. ALWAYS taking on the biggest tests and challenges.

    - fought 4 locked Hall of Famers
    - Had 8 wars against locked Hall of Famers

    Mayweather has only fought ONE hall of Famer - Oscar De La Hoya who took Mayweather to a split decision. Manny destroyed him.

    No matter what happens Manny is fighter of the decade. No doubt.

    Pac has a small edge just now but no ****in way is he so far ahead that he can afford to lose & still be FOTD... especially if he loses to the man that is close 2nd to him.

    To each their own but the winner of the actual h2h will be FOTD in my eyes, its the fairest way.

    How can one fight decide who is fighter of the decade? It doesn't make sense. Fighter of the decade should be CONSISTANTLY pushing yourself and taking and winning the biggest challenges.

    It shouldn't all rest on one night of boxing. It's not a championship belt that can be won in the ring.

    No-ones records matches up to this or even comes close:

    Reason 1: Pacquiao is the only fighter to win 4 Lineal Championship titles. Lineal titles include Flyweight, Featherweight, Jr. Lightweight, Light-Welterweight. Floyd Mayweather Jr, Oscar De La Hoya, and Sugar Ray Leonard each won 3 Lineal Championships (practically the greatest championship title one can win in a weight division).

    Reason 2: Pacquiao won 5 of his 6 world titles by KO.

    Reason 3: Pacquiao is the only fighter in history to win both Flyweight and Featherweight crowns.

    Reason 4: Pacquiao defeated 3 former Olympians: Ledwaba, David Diaz and De La Hoya; 2 of them (Diaz and Ledwaba) during title fights.

    Reason 5: Pacquiao defeated many big named Hall of famers: Oscar De La Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales.

    Reason 6: He outclassed a fighter that dominated and was undefeated in the 140 lbs. division (Ricky Hatton).

    Reason 7: Starting pro at 106 lbs, Pacquiao has won fights in the following weight classes:

    -Jr. Flyweight
    -Flyweight
    -Super Bantamweight
    -Featherweight
    -Super Featherweight
    -Lightweight
    -Light Welterweight
    -Welterweight

    Reason 8: Pacquiao won world titles at 6 different weight classes.

    Major:
    * WBC world flyweight champion
    * IBF world super bantamweight champion
    * WBC world super featherweight champion
    * WBC world lightweight champion
    * IBO light welterweight champion

    Minor:
    * OPBF flyweight champion
    * WBC international super bantamweight champion
    * WBC international super featherweight champion
    * IBO world light welterweight champion

    The Ring Magazine titles:
    * World featherweight champion
    * World super featherweight champion
    * World light welterweight champion

    Manny Pacquiao knocked out fighters from Jr. Flyweight all the way up to Welterweight; He is the true definition of Pound 4 Pound champion. Manny is a humble guy and the greatest example of a champion. Manny Pacquiao is definitely a Hall of fame fighter, regardless of all the haters he has out there.

    can't see it that way. First of all and most importantly, the size favours Floyd. Pac is already smaller than average at 140. If he fought Floyd, it would probably be at a catchweight above 140. Secondly, I believe the style matchup favours Floyd. If Pac beats Floyd, that's a huge statement. But if Floyd beats Pac, it doesn't necessarily mean he's better than him, p4p.

    So you have to compare the rest of their resumes. And it doesn't come close imo.

    Like someone said earlier, 1 fight cannot determine who is the best fighter of the entire decade

    no it would not look stupid. floyd really should kick jmm and pac's ass because he was way the bigger fighter. if pac loses competitively, pac still is the fighter of the decade because of his whole body of work and not just one single head-to-head fight with the obviously bigger opponent.

    if floyd wants to be the fighter of the decade, he should cancel his fight with jmm and fight mosley, cotto and paul williams consecutively and win them all decisively.

    Co-sign.

    Pac fought for legacy first, then cashing on now.

    Mayweather fought for money then, now wants legacy?

    Case of too late the hero.

    LOL...say what you want to say but even if Mayweather knock Pac out with a jab today Pac is still fighter of the decade. It's too late for Mayweather right now. Well unless he takes 4 fights this year and beat Marquez, Cotto, Mosley, and P Williams than maybe. Otherwise he didn't do enough to achieve being fighter of the decade. There's no doubt he is the fighter with the best skill this decade it's just that he didn't do enough to achieve it.

    I think boxing fans have evolved past the fighter being "undefeated" point..
    Before a feat like Calzaghe or Mayweather's -0- would have been praised!
    (But in these day's people look for a way to pick it apart)

    Regardless of how we feel about it.
    Manny having a couple of "L's" and ?'s fight's on his record and still being considered
    the best of the decade is proof to that.

    People want to see challenge.

    Why would that clearly not be the case? Fighter of the decade is exactly that. A decade of achievement. It's down to who has had the most achievements, who has had the MOST EXCITING FIGHTS (NOT F*CKING MAYWEATHER that's for sure!!!!), who has taken on the biggest challenges and won.

    That's Pac. No doubt.

    Mayweather took the path of the biggest purses and riches. Pac took the path of the best legacy. And it show's big time if you compare their records.
