Manny to fight for Martinez's 160 title?

Martinez is willing to put his 160lb belt on the line and is willing to fight Pacquiao at 154lbs the weight class in which Pacquiao is the champion. This fight won't happen, Martinez isn't too big, he's too good.

 

Technically, you CAN fight for both the 154 and 160 lb title on the same night.

The thing is, the 160 pounder has to make 154 to make it happen.

And the guy proposing this to happen isn't Pacquiao. It's Martinez.

 

Yeah but the catchweight was 150. You cannot possibly have a catch weight of 154 for a 160 fight

Also, Martinez holds the lineal title, HE should be the one who dictates ANYTHING, not Manny Pacquifraud.

 

Technically you can but i think its bull****. Martinez has too much integrity and i dont think he would agree to it. I thin he said he would fight for Pacs title at 154 but if Pac wanted to make the MW title fight he would go down to 156.

 

Maravilla wants to challenge Pac for his 154 belt and Maravilla is putting his 160 belt with it. If Pac beats martinez, that's 9th division for Pac.

Hey ****** you are forgetting that Maravilla is the challenger not Pac. Pac is also considered the #1 p4p and Maravilla acknowledges that from the beginning? Why are you so mad that an Argentinian is being considered more dangerous against Pac? I guess Mexico ran out of tough guys huh? LOL

I had each of these reactions after reading this thread.

 

The same way Ray Leonard did it back in the day. Sergio wants to fight for Mannys 154 title while also putting up his MW crown. I kind of like the idea if it means we get to see this fight. I think Manny might be bitting off more than he can chew....but I've said that before and Manny has proven me wrong. Should be a great fight....but the fight has got to be at 154 or higher if Serg is gonna put his title on the line.

 

Pac doesn't want to fight Martinez for his 160 belt. It's Maravilla who wants to
put his belt on the line just to be considered as Pac's next opponent.
