I always thought one guy had to weigh within the division?

  2. Play the I'm too small card? Pac is 5' 6". There's no playing anything, you stupid ****. He's a small welterweight as it is. If Martinez AGREES on a catchweight of 150, 152, or 154, then what the **** is it to you?

I don't hear you bitching about the ATGs who fought at catchweights. You're nothing more than a xenophobic *******, straight up.

Nop you could come at 105 pounds and still win the heavyweight title if you beat the +200 pound scary man..

The different weight classes are there to protect the small boxers.

i know there is no minimum, but shouldn't the maximum weight be within the middleweight range of 155-160 in order for this to qualify for a middleweight fight?

The maximum is 160lb, you cant weight higher at the MW weight
limit to challenge for the title at this class.

"A boxing match is usually scheduled for a fixed weight class,
and each boxer's weight must not exceed the upper limit. An
amateur boxer's weight must in addition not fall below the lower
limit, although pro boxers may fight above their weight class.
A nonstandard weight limit is called a catchweigth. A catch weight
may be agreed for an individual bout —sometimes even for a championship
bout— but championships are awarded only at the standard weight classes."

... so at the worst case scenario it seems that if PAC wants to challenge
for a MW title then the catchweight should be within the range of 154-160lb,
definitely none can come above 160lb but none is also forced to come
at exactly the catch weight. They agree to catchweight of 154lb which
is the new UPPER limit within the MW weight class and then both can
probably still come at 153lb and still the MW title will be on the line.

If anyone of them passes the catchweiht limit but not exceed the divisional
limit of 160lb then they still may fight for the title because catchweight
was their personal agreement. They may have some penalty in the contract for that.

SRL fought for the LHW title and SMW title at the same damn time.

There is no lower limit in championship fights. Only a maximum.

The middleweight champion can weigh 140 lbs, if he beat the previous champ, it doesn't matter as long as he doesn't weigh more than 160. He will still be considered the middleweight champ and his belts would be on the line so long as it's a title fight.

If Maravilla can make 154 "IF" and Pac would be around 146...PAC would ass **** him. I don't think this fight is going to happen though but then again there is NO ONE else worth seeing for a MEGA fight..
