I don't think he took a dive, he just failed to deal with the punches in a way only shot fighters fail to deal with being hit hard. Great win and all that, but Matthysse looked a shell of the boxer he was, and being the first fighter Manny had stopped in nearly a decade, evidence suggests that too. Can't read too much into the win... but delighted nonetheless...

 

Matthysse's style is tailor made for Pacquiao.

Arum can upsell Lomachenko just like De La Hoya - Pac. "Can this little guy go into the lion's den (stadium packed with Pac fans) and take on an experienced, much bigger legend?" Regulars have no idea just how declined PacMan is, or how good (who the hell) Loma is, this could be an eye-opener for the masses, overcoming "incredible obstacles" and so on in the promotion.

Not only does this make top dollar, it skyrockets Loma's stock to near PPV level. Which is why Arom won't even consider Bud-Pac, the much better fight, and the much more meaningful fight for the WW division, cuz Loma would just grab the easy win and return to LW.
