Upon watching the fight on replays and understanding what the hell is happening in the ring, why was cotto so demoralized that he did not know what to do to at least give himself a puncher's chance... In the first few rounds, manny was really trying to let cotto to unload his punches on manny, he made sure that miguel was giving his all on his punches. You could see manny just standing in there like what clottey did in his fight with cotto. Even though we saw that the punches of cotto was really good, manny pretended not hurt by those shots, he made cotto feel that he was invincible inside that ring. Manny was really trying to make sure that he made cotto realize that he was fighting margarito at that time, not manny pacquiao, on which on miguels fight with margarito, he simply could not hurt margarito that is why he abandoned his punches and just quit... Manny was so smart in this fight that he psyched cotto out in just a few rounds, miguel just abandoned everything knowing the false belief that he could not hurt pacquiao at all, that is why we saw manny just charged in and ate cotto's punches all night long without hesitation because after the first few rounds, cotto lost his belief on his power and strength to stop or even hurt manny, miguel was just punching but nothing was with it... I would totally favor manny against floyd this time, knowing that he out smarted a good and versatile fighter in cotto. with speed, power, skills, smarts, heart, determination, and the beast mode that I saw on his fight with miguel, I believe he would run over floyd if they ever fought... just my simple thoughts...
I don't really agree with your view of it, but opinions are meant to be had. I saw him pulling back to get Cotto to come foward. When Cotto started teeing off one punch at a time, Pac began punching in between Cotto and damaged him that way.
watch pac post fight interview, he said mental regarding on what he did... I really find it very clever to psyche out cotto in there...
