not quite. They couldn't come to an agreement. The middle man at the time who was brought in to save the deal, Said that the fight never happened due to floyd.
floyd thought hatton-Pac would be trench warfare, a slugfest of two evenly matched sluggers. Floyd thought he would cash in easily on the winner.
For me, its one of the most impressive things i've seen Pac do. I rate it very high on his resume. The haters may say Floyd already knocked Hatton out or that he was overtrained but noone can take away that it was as a great victory for Pac. Nobody has ever been able to handle Hatton at the weight before, his first loss in the division he ruled for quite a few years. For me beating the top man in the division is what its all about, thats the main aim at the end of the day, to become champ. Hatton looked in the best physical shape i have ever seen him in, but the look on his face when walking to the ring, it was like he knew he was already beaten. Quite alot went on with Mayweather Snr an Lee Beard that i don't think anyone will ever understand, to be honest, i don't think Snr cared to much for Hatton an thats the kind of relationship a fighter doesn't need with his trainer, so while Hatton was in great shape physically i don't think he was all there mentally that night. Still you can't blame Pacquiao for that. Hatton had looked vulnerable at times before he steped up to fight Mayweather, quite a few posters on here seem to think Hatton wasn't a very good boxer because of that, but thats just part an parcel or the guys style. He was always willing to take a shot to land one of his own. For a while i thought Snr was doing a good job with Hatton, the Malignaggi fight was a classic Hatton performance, i would say maybe Hattons best ever where he showed his true boxing ability, I mean he was slipping punches an countering, moving the head alot more, something Hatton did alot in his younger days. Hatton has become a very under-rated fighter on these boards since the Pacquaio fight, rather unfairly. Pacquaio did exactly what he was suppose to do, I think Roach knew Hatton wouldn't be ready for Pacquaio's power, seems like quite a few people get caught out early by not givings Pacquaios power much respect. Hatton thought he could just bull-rush Pacquaio an its what Roach trained for all along, he kept saying Hattons to old to change his style in a big way, that Snr wouldn't be able to help him, an he was spot on this time. I was disapointed being a fan of Hatton he got sparked like that, almost disbeilef, but i think looking back that left that finished it for Pacquaio just had me dismayed. A perfect KO, as i said, prob the most impressive single thing i've seen for Pac.
Floyd has been scared ever since, just think about it punishing Clottey for 12 rounds non stop punching, Margo, Cotto! You know that mutha****a is scared.
It wasn't the power, I think it was the speed that surprised him so much. Hatton came in with the mentality, "I'm the bigger man, I'll push him around." He forgot two things: 1. Manny was the bigger man. He was taller and heavier. 2. Manny will hit you 2-3 times before you even realize what is going on. Floyd was fast too, but he didn't throw 80 punches in one round and elect to stand toe-to-toe. When Hatton was hurt, it was because he misread Manny and didn't see the punch, or because he came in to grab and didn't see the punch. The knockout was a little different. Manny really loaded up that left hand. Kind of similar to Martinez. He's not that big of a puncher, but when he loads up, he can get you good.
the reason why hatton experienced that devastating defeat has his corner, he felt so defeated even before he stepped in the ring once he saw the very ugly SR as his coach, and thats what floyd the void will feel if he fight pac, the feeling will double coz 2 ugly faccs will be in his corner, his SR and his UNCLE bwahahahahah!!!!!
The ts is completely right thas why he announced it that night, floyd was probably schocked after that sr. scared him even more saying he must be on drugs or something. since then the bull**** happened and floyd is waiting for pac to slow down.
Well if you are going to make a statement like that it would be nice if there was some substance to it. Like an article showing Mayweather's viewpoint on the fight that lead you to believe that Mayweather felt that exact way. Without it, it comes off as an opinion based off your own viewpoint of how Mayweather would think. And based on the amount of haters he has a viewpoint like that(meaning without substance to back it) doesn't hold much weight.
Punishing Clottey:rofl Yeah thats why Clottey didn't have a mark on him and Pac's eye was swollen and scuffed. Yes Pac won the fight clearly, but he didn't punish ****. And hell Mosley KOed Maragrito yet Floyd got in there and schooled his ass. I don't understand why people like to believe that Floyd would scared by watching manny defeat fighters who are inferior to himself especially in termsn of defense, ring IQ, and overall skills.
Suprised, but not shocked Hugton comes in with his hands down, rushes in with his head up in the breeze. Saw the side step over hand left like they practised at wcg GYM time and time again. I thought that punch will put hugton in a coma. And BOOM!! there it is.
