Since he was world champ in 8 divisions over 25 years Surely that makes him the greatest boxer ever ?!? Who can even compare with that record? (BTW - I am not even really a fan of his. Just have to acknowledge what I see).
He was not the greatest of his era that was pbf. A top 5 ranking is ridiculous. Srl isn't even top 10 pac isn't greater than srl.
No he doesn't. Srl did more in 40 fights than pac did in over 70. Who did pac beat who's better than Duran hearns Hagler or benitez? Who mab??? Lmfao!!! His losses are also no where as bad. He only lost to hof and atg fighters Duran and Norris and Camacho in his last 2 fights. No way in hell is pac greater than srl his resume isn't better nor Is he more skilled. How is he greater?
pac definitely has the 'ali effect' going. it's not just his achievements in the ring that make him great, it's who he is as a man, his actions outside the ring, his compassion, and his character. i know i'm in the minority on here, but i just don't see him above floyd at all, and i think people not liking floyd out of the ring has a lot to do with it. i mean, floyd's the 'anti-pac' in almost all ways, so it's understandable to a point. but kids are going to grow up, see that pac and floyd fought in the same era, see that they both had terrific resumes, but only one retired undefeated having fought and beat everybody (except perhaps paul williams at ww) while pac was defeated 8 times, and that - despite pac's incredible popularity - it was floyd who became the PPV monster and everyone paid to see. granted, it was to see him lose in some cases, but it's also because he was always the one to beat. and then they'll see that floyd and pac did fight each other, and floyd won a predictable UD. granted, the fight should have happened 3-4 years earlier though.
I never said he was gonna beat Ugas. I even said that Spence would be an easier fight. It really didn't matter anyways. This fight could have only complemented Pac's legacy. Even if he had been KO'd in 30 seconds, it wouldn't change his legacy one bit for the worse.
Pac won 8 division titles. The grestest and most recognized fighter of his generation. Top 10 ATG and probably top 5. His achievements are legendary.
Chill out. The only great fighter that he beat cleanly with no bull**** attached was Benitez. Hearns, Duran, and Hagler all deserved rematches (and Hagler didn't really lose). He shouldn't have lost to Duran the first time either. His resume is pretty shallow outside of that. Manny had so much more longevity and had success in so many more weightclasses. At some point, quantity is better than quality.
I will ask you this again, who did pac beat that was better than Duran hearns Hagler or benitez? It's about quality over quanity he fought for so long and his best win is mab that says alot about him. The quality of the fighters pac beat were not better than who srl beat period. Pac also lost to guys he had no business losing to srl didnt.
