Man how many excuses can people have for this guy? Socks, blood, gloves, religion, cramps, didn't sleep, didn't eat. Manny just got timed and knocked the hell out from a shot he didn't see. He lost bc he was reckless, had no patience and JMM was just the better man.

You can't deny that having faith in something can have true positive effects on your mentality, strengthen it, help self esteem, build confidence etc etc etc. I'd never put someone down for having faith, even if I firmly discredit the validity of religion and god/gods, and chalk it up to mythology. Faith is fine, blind faith is foolish. Could his flip flopping have affected his psyche? Sure, it's possible. But god didn't make him jump into that counter right hand, and he was looking pretty good prior to the KO. He made a mistake and was dusted for it.....free will of the two men in the ring....not the will of god.

Pac has cheated, gambled and even reports of him having kids with another woman while married. Frankly I don't care. It's his personal life and wealth. I don't admire anyone because of their religion or lack thereof.

Man of humility is BS. When you drive around in a really expensive SUV of which the tires alone probably cost more than most of the vehicles in that country, that's not humility. HBO said he had a caravan of 30 cars as his posse for this last fight. Let's just leave Manny at a boxing celebrity instead of trying to paint him a saint.

I am a "born again" Christian man and I will give some insight on your topic. First of all, religion is not from God and religion doesn't get people closer to God. Religion actually derails people away from God. Jesus came for mankind to have a " relationship " with their Creator and not a religious system where all people do is follow man made rules, rituals, ceremonies and go to church once in a while thinking they are doing God a favor. Sadly, most people ( including believers ) are religious ( don't have a relationship with God ) and don't understand this. :?

I am now going to say something that many of you will not like but here it goes. God doesn't approve of boxing. Why? Because God didn't make human beings to be inside a ring hitting each other till they bleed, get KO'd or die. God made a peaceful mankind ( read Genesis ) and that's what He wants us to be again, peaceful like in the beginning. Now that Pac has gotten closer to God ( by entering through the door which is Jesus ) God is letting him know what he desires of him and yes, it's not boxing.

The Lord says in Isaiah 55:8, " For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD ".

It's not about being a religious nut or belonging to this denomination or to this church but what really matters is knowing God and His word.

    Proverbs 2: 1 to 11

" My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you ".

God didn't make Pac or anyone for boxing, for His ways are not our ways and His paths are not our paths. I am not trying to convert anyone here, just lighting a candle in the darkness.

    God Bless everyone ...

    :good

Manny's god judged him worthy of an out-of-body experience in the ring.

Quick, someone photoshop Manny's unconscious body onto a cross.

By more than one woman probably... Manny doesn't believe in birth control (his platform in congress is anti-birth control) and has ****ed more Filipino hookers than the most frequent sex tourists.

Great stuff Bon Bon. Like I had mentioned to you before, if Manny is serious about a closer relationship with Jesus, HE WILL NOT WIN. Remember :good

Roach, Ariza, and Arum are scum and impeding Manny from his spiritual growth. I don't know if Manny is on PEDS, but if he was/is he ain't fooling the big man upstairs. :D.

Let's say Manny is not even aware he's getting juiced up by Roach and Ariza ( this is assuming he's on something ). Don't you think God would want someone who is sincere in seeking him to be removed away from that filth?

These discussions sadly never go well on these boards and maybe should be moved to the lounge.

This thread reminds of when Sugar Ray Robinson was asked by a reporter at press conference before a title fight: Does it help to cross yourself before the opening bell?

    "Only if ya can fight"

Actually, it's quite the opposite: atheist are, in general, the worst peoples ever, the less generous, happy, faithful, and reliable kind of peoples; usually atheists are just sellfish and egocentrical, but of course not all the religions are good; the catholic one seems to be the very best one, it only has positive aspects, if some peoples aren't good being religious, then it's their fault

The boxing ring is a very lonely and scary place, thus many of the warriors who step through the ropes need a deeply spiritual outlook in order to get them through the rougher moments.

LMAO, did god said, "GO MY SON, PUNCH EACH OTHER AND MAKE PEOPLE GAMBLE". Religion has nothing to do with boxing!
