    No.

    The Philippines was playing super mario bros. probably even before America did, back in the mid 1980's.

    We had the Family computer game system on the local market, imported from Japan.

    That console was created BEFORE the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) that became popular in the US.

    Yeah.

    Though he was probably too poor to own one of those.

    There were those local videogame arcades everywhere though. 1 Philippine peso for 5 minutes of play.

    Supermario and Contra and Tetris and Battle City, etc.
