Manuel Charr has done somewhat better against Odlanier Solis' recent opponents:

    Charr TKO 2 Saglam
    Solis TKO 7 Saglam

Charr stopped Yakup Saglam earlier than Solis.

    Charr KO 1 Airich
    Solis UD Airich

Konstantine Airich was knocked out by Charr in round one, but took Solis the distance

    Vitali TKO 4 Charr
    Vitali KO 1 Solis

Charr survived until the 4th round against Vitali Klitschko, while Solis lost by KO 1.

I know about the injuries and the other details in all those fights, but I think there's a pattern here. Charr has been more impressive because he has more heart and desire to win, while Solis is lazy and poorly motivated. Anybody else notice Solis didn't appear to be the least upset about having to quit against Vitali?

Charr has more hunger inside the ring.

Solis has more hunger outside the ring.

Solis has more potential and would beat charr easy! Problrm for solis is motivation IMO! he seems to need great opponent to get himself in shape and focussed!

They should trow him against Haye maybe then he will get in shape and get serious!

    I don't think so.

Charr-Solis would be a good matchup for the Haye-Fury card.

The result was officially "KO 1" and it's listed as KO 1 on BoxRec.

Irrelevant. Solis even at his worst would smash Charr to pieces. Charr's comeback fights after his title shot against Airich and Saglam (espeically Saglam) looked dodgy as fcuk too. If I had to money on a fight within the last 10 years that was rigged it would deffo be Charr vs Saglam. Saglam was beating Charr senseless for two rounds before retiring in his corner due to 'injury', he fought again that month though...........

I agree, Charr is obviously less skilled than Solis.

But when it comes to heart and desire to win, he has a big advantage over Odlanier, and sometimes that can make the difference in a fight.

  13. Charr is not better.

The fight against Saglam was a joke. Saglam won the rounds easily but he gassed too early and injured his shoulder .. it was the fault of Saglam, not the work of Charr.

The fight against Airich stays enigmatic for me. It can be luck, but it also can be just a revenge of Airich against Öner.

Bidenko schooled Charr and lost through robbery. Since then you could see that Charr is not a decent boxer. He also needed 10 rounds against Owen Beck.

Solis is clearly the more gifted and skilled fighter but he also the lesser motivated fighter. Solis would be a clear favourite but that doesn't mean Charr couldn't beat him. We've seen better fighters than Solis like Lennox Lewis, James Toney who when unmotivated and not in the best of shape seriously under perform. Who would have thought Tiberi would better Toney?

When you have a fighter as lazy and non-committed as Solis anything could happen. Solis in my opinion is over rated he's done nothing at heavyweight other than KO a gate keeper like Barrett in style. Hardly a great achievement.
