The point is he is giving his Ukrainian fans the possibly last chance to see him fight (he hasn't fought in Ukraine in many many years), he's taking advantage of the soccer stadium coming off the Euro 2012, and it could help in the coming elections.

It's not a great fight by any stretch, but it works on several other levels.

those injuries above really throw Haye's suffering from a broken toe into perspective, don't they?

Vitali has been an excellent fighter, and a credit to the sport. If this is his farewell fight, then congratulations to him, he's 41 years old and even though I wanted him to fight Haye, can't begrudge him wanting to leave the sport on his own terms, with an easy win.

How do I rank Vitali's legacy? Could have cemented his name as an ATG if he hadn't had those injury problems and retired early, he could have dominating the division instead of Wlad, and he wouldn't have lost to anyone except maybe Chris Byrd again. Therefore, I see him going into the hall of fame, but he's no ATG, he lacks a defining win, and he lost to the two best fighters he faced in Lennox and Byrd. No shame though, and due to his size, skill and granite chin he's ranks higher H2H than he does on accomplishment. However, I don't know about him being a H2H nightmare for any HW, he has a clear stylistic problem with the likes of Chris Byrd, and I think other technical inside fighters could give him fits. Also, he lost to Lennox Lewis fair and square before that comes up, even though he fought a great fight.

I've seen you copying and pasting this exact thing over and over every time this thread is discussed. Are you on the K2 payroll?

This is an inexcusably **** fight, and no amount of copying and pasting or accusing people of 'hating' is going to change that.

Audley was reigning European champ and former Olympic gold medalist.

Charr was getting shown up by a shot to **** Danny Williams. Audley beat a better version of Danny Williams more impressively.

Vitali is better than Haye + Audley better credentials than Charr = This fight is ****ing pathetic.

So what's this fight set up for then? Because it's clearly not for Vitalis legacy is it?!

Even if Vitali is 41 years old, him vs. Charr is one of the worst mismatches I can think of in any division.

This is like taking Vitali and putting him into prizefighter. He'd win every round and demolish one bum after another, but what would that prove?
